Point well taken there. Sometimes we get so far involved with ourselves that we can't see things the way others do. I think it's great that you posted this info. No slap on Wolf, as he and I are pretty close buddies, but sometmes you need options, and there are times when Lynn gets too busy to take on more work. I appreciate everythng Lynn has done, and also would like to see even more. Perhaps a few more graphics designers in the mix will push that envelope even further, sort of like when you see other peoples painting and customizing figures. A little competition just makes everyone that much better.

As far as your G3 convention goes, I too am a little surprised that you didn't get more help, as Texas has quite a few hobbyists there. Don't give up on us yet, we're still a work in progress....

..... mwhite, .......you made some great points, ..............it's seems in this hobby, to many, you are either with "us" or against "us" the term "us" does not mean the hobby as a whole, but for whichever "clique" or "style" you don't care for, there is such a polarization it is hard for some to find a middle ground.... or worse yet, if you don't do back flips over a product made by a ringer leader of a particular clique, then you are labeled as a "hater".

I know from personal experience, as when the BuzzBall figures first arrived, ........they were met with GREAT resistance, I heard excuses from being "too expensive" to "we want to keep the hobby pure" ..

Too bad you are not in PA or close by, I would have taken you up on your offer for free space at that convention, ......... Texas is a bit too far for me to drag some boards...

Al is exactly right. I welcome the information you provided. I do most miniature football logos for between $20-$40 because it fills in down time during the day as i wait for proof approvals and it is my part in helping promote the hobby. I also often trade for stuff that I need. It is not a money maker compared to the corporate work I do. I don't think the guys were knocking you for the info. I think they were just recognizing and informing you that we have those who actually play the game, have been here a while with this community and support the hobby who just happen to be graphic designers. No knock on the graphic designer you posted...his work looks very good and creative! It is great to have options and or competition and I would have no problem placing a link to his site in the links section. I will look forward to seeing someone use his service. I'm sure he will come in with a new take on the miniature football subject.

In regards to the Texas thing, I seem to recall that the Texas guys had a number of things on their plate that weekend. I think it was more of a timing issue. Didn't they come out the year before to an event with a full stadium and a number of guys?

Give it time. The wargaming commnity numbers compared to miniature football is probably a 10,000 to 1. That is why the MFCA is here. We are still in the baby step stage in comparison, but I forsee much growth on the horizon.

I appreciate all the thoughtful and reasonable comments gentlemen. Didn't mean to seem so irritated, but as I alluded to, I have faced and am facing the same issues with my convention. It is madening when I hear people say, "Well, such and such gaming group is going to be there and we had a falling out....not going." It is sophomoric, self destructive and ultimately undermines the hobby. I've even seen game stores shut down over these kinds of silly politics when a group fractures. Wow...this has really gotten off subject. . The only responses I expected to get (if any) were "thanks for the link" or "he does nice work." Anyway, wargaming is a small niche and if EF is an even SMALLER niche as Weirdwolf said, then unity is even more important. And I mean unity through passion for the hobby not a hegemony. . . there's always more than one way to skin a cat. But people should always feel free to share and express their ideas and not be rejected out of hand.

And just to let you guys know....because of my involvement with so many other things, I only have time for actually playing EF on a very casual basis. But I am very committed to promoting what I consider a unique and engaging hobby/game at the G3 convention. The other board members and I really want to see tournaments being played as the ranks of EF players increase.
