Once again I feel happy and depressed. They are fantastic as always. They look so good, that I don't know if they would ever see action on the field and I am again depressed knowing that I can't even come close with my own skills. If I had only been doing this back in my D & D days when I could paint till 2 in the morning without my eyes going buggy.

Great as always!

Default All Time Great

Gridiron,

Your work is classic. If it hasn't been done so already, you should be an all time great in electric football history. Your work is legendary in its own time.

Default WOW

Great figures. Your work rivals that of "Michigan Joe". Moreover, Ravenna Al would especially proud of your painting.
Losing you to works of a larger scale would be a shame. Keep it up.
Question: Do you play?

Default Much Thanks

I really appreciate your kind response. I had been rather frustrated with my progress on my work lately.

Weirdwolf-My eyes do get buggy and it is usually when I am the most wanting to get something done. My dad ordered some very strong reading glasses that were too strong for him to use so he gave them to me and that is the only way I could even see what I am doing. But, occasionally that still isn't enough.

Also, I am in this hobby as my escape from the demands of my professional life, and sometimes I am just too uptight to paint. I just can't make my self be steady enough for the details. I have had some training in meditation and I have to literally make myself get into a sort of "zen" state to paint the details. Sometimes I just can't get there and it frustrates me more.

Markee- As for playing, I won a nice older 620 on ebay which I was able to make run smoothly. And, I have been working on tweaking bases, but I still have along way to go on those. I usually either play solitaire or with my kids. My nine year old daughter is my best opponent, but that is because I give here the bases that run staight and fast. She loves to score on the kick returns, which is how she beats me everytime. She scores on almost every kick, so I just let her score last. However, I usually end up helping her and my five year old daughter play each other. I have sprayed all of the figures with double coats of matt varnish so I just let them play, although I do make sure they are carefull. I have been trying to get my 14 year old son to play, but he says it is too slow and he would rather play Madden on the 360. I still keep trying to bring him around though.

Anyway- thanks again for your compliments.

I'm also in North Texas, these are absolutely wonderful, right up there with some of the best work I've seen here.
