I think it creates some interesting scenarios. Once you beat some one, you are going to start cheering for them to win but not by too much. Almost like a NFL fantasy football league where you cheer for your fantasy team players to get a TD or lots of yards but not beat your favorite NFL team.

For instance, if Mike Turner plays Jim Davis and loses...Jim is gonna cheer for Mike to win all his other games even though you are both a country apart from each other.

Yes, what ever team you use in any league game is acceptable. Be sure to read the concept over carefully. This IS another league but it doesn't necasarily mean that you have to play more games then you already are. the games you play in your local league or tourneys can count as MFCANL games as long as both coaches are MFCA members.

Default Great idea...

but - doesn't the point system encourage and reward running the score up?

Points are awarded as follows.
20 points for a win + points scored0 points for a loss + points scored
At the end of the season, you will get an additional 10 points for every win any opponent you have beaten gets.
For example:
Coach A beats Coach B 21-7
Coach A gets 21 + 20 for a total of 41 points
Coach B gets 7 points

After July 4, 2010 the season will be over and points will be totaled. The MFCA coach with the highest points will be awarded as the regular season champion.

That is where this provision comes in.
"Non league or non tournament additional games may be scheduled if so desired, but these must be submitted for approval prior to the game being played and a MFCA approved witness must be present."

Yes to a degree. That is why this is posted to discuss the pros and cons. Other ideas for scoring? My ears are wide open.

But if you can beat somebody 60 to 7 within your rules set by the end of the 3rd quarter...why not? They can tap out at the end of the 3rd quarter to stop the pain. The NFL doesn't have any provisions for routs other than to switch the broadcast.

Not trying to argue, but I wouldn't necessarily call it "another league", although it could be. My interpretation of this is that it is more of a National Championship of MFCA Members. In reality, you are just submitting "your league (single or multiple)" results to the National Championship. For instance, a guy could play in the CBSMF and the DSEFL Pro League. He could send in four of his games from the CBSMF and four of his games from the DSEFL and they would count for the National Championship, as long as the criteria is met (games against other MFCA Members and both coaches agree that it is a MFCA Game) for the Championship.

On the other side, you could establish a totally new local league, regional league, or road warrior league of just MFCA Paid Due Members and send in those games.

I think this is where you would have the most trouble. Encouraging one to run up the score to help their National Championship Seeding is not, in my humble and rookie opinion, something that should be supported. If you are going to add points for points scored, then there should be a "cap" of some kind, say 20 bonus points, instead of the final tally.

If you do not cap it, there will be lots of opportunities for claims of unsportsmanlike conduct.
