ok, recap time. i wasn't around for the first 2 games of the day, so i cannot do a run down on the play by play, but i can give stats.

rams 19 vs. vikings 6

eric dickerson ran for 252 yards and 2 td's.
the vikings total offense was 98 yards combined run and pass, and 1 td.
it appears that the rams missed 2 extra points. how does that happen?

oilers 28 vs. vikings 20

earl campbell ran for 264 yards and 3 td's.
the vikings had a better offensive showing, with tarkenton completing 10 of 13 for 157 yards and 2 td's.
the vikings ran for a combined 64 yards and 1 td.
the oilers only attempted 2 passes in this game. i must be in bizzaro world!

saints 10 vs. oilers 21

the saints started this game with an onside kick, trying to catch the oilers off gaurd and mess with frank's head a little, to no avail. he called it before i did it, and the kick didn't even go 10 yards, so, penalty and rekick. earl returns the kick 57 yard, oilers ball at the 39. first play of the game, earl campbell gets the ball and pat swilling comes in from behind and causes a fumble, saints ball!
the saints come out showing off a new spread quads formation, and in the second play brees hit devery henderson downfield with nobody around him for a 60 yard td pass. xp good.
earl does it again with a 52 yard kick return, giving the oilers great field position. with a short field, the oilers put together a small drive, ending with a 5 yard td pass to tim wilson. xp good.
saints receive the kick and are pinned deep in oilers territory. a 10 yard run by deuce mcallister gives the saints a little breathing room, and after an incomplete and a 2 yard loss on a run, deuce breaks one on 3rd down for 54 yards. this run helped set up a 63 yard field goal by kicker john carney (thank goodnes for TDK's! ), putting the saints up 10-0 at the half.
the saints receive the kick for the second half with momentum, but quickly stall going 3 and out. oilers respond after a 70 yard punt with a couple of first downs, and a 52 yard reception and td from pastorini to tim wilson. xp good.
saints receive the kick, and again, can do nothing missing a lot of open receivers. a 40 yard punt was returned by earl campbell 45 yards, once again giving the oilers great field position. a couple of more chain movers was capped off by an 18 yard td run by campbell. xp good.
the saints were finally able to move the ball in the second half, but too little too late. oilers win 21-10.

stats:
drew brees 3/8 124 yds 1 td
deuce mcallister 5 runs 64 yds
devery henderson 2 rec 127 yds 1 td

dan pastorini 6/6 109 yds 2 td's
earl campbell 8 runs 62 yds 1 td - 1 rec 12 yds - 154 special teams yards
tim wilson 3 rec 68 yds 2 tds - 1 run 4 yds
