![]() Here it is a little after noon on a beautiful, snowy Pittsburgh Monday and I'm already tuned in on homemade, Festive Nog
![]() Here are some further strides made on my first dry-brush project. Following Dmitri's lead I decided to paint up the 22 starters and fill in with extra players later. This has been a really fun and really challenging project. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Faces are difficult to paint in tones of light and dark, it's hard enough to try and sculpt the shape into the plastic with an exacto. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() I like the figs : the real faces , the expression you gave some of them is really good, I think about one of your receivers and some of your linemen. You catched it well.
The only critic I'll do is about the eyes : often too big IMHO ; but it depands the style you want to give to the miniature. Big eyes give a very expressive look, like in comic books for example. Smaller eyes are less expressive and visible once the face mask is fixed on the fig, eveything is a question of personal feeling. And from a table point of view, or showcase, I'm not sure little eyes are more "catching" than big ones... A good technic to make small eyes is to use a very thin brush of course (3/0 or even 5/0), and make the eye in black. Then, add just two little spots of white paint on each side et voilĂ** ![]() But again, I'm not sure it is really an issue. Smaller eyes will not allow you to make such face expressive attitudes on some of figures. Can't wait to paint a little black an yellow myself, BTW ![]() Dimitri |

![]() John,
Awsome! My younger nephew found the box of figures I was going to ship to you. He just likes to set them up and play tackle football. He should be bored with them soon. Any time you want to come to New Castle for a game, let me know. I am still trying to start a league here in New Castle. I cant believe that in a rich football area like Western Pa., we cant find enough for a league! |

![]() There's a fine line between a close-up and too close, the pics hardly do the figures justice, granted the technique isn't executed perfectly, but they look like they've been cleaning chimneys.
In person, since they are so small, they look better, tighter. And once I get the decals on in Phase 3, the final transformation takes place and they become fully alive. ![]() |
