I love decaling!! With the way the details of figures have gone from the classic days of the simple DOT to our new avenues to detailing a team.

the part that gets to me is the appeal logos that cause me greif and neck lines!

to me decaling can be a pain.... but with the details i like to see on my team it is a nessasary evil i guess. what i hate is painting skin tones...so boring.

Default Not so bad!

I don't mind decaling so much but I find that I have to take a break after about 5-6 figures. Also, since I started using decals about a year and a half ago my eyesight has gotten worse. Decals and painting....or old age?

I am the same way . After I paint acouple of figures , my eyes take 10-15 minutes to adjust back to normal .

Default NECK LINES

K-LO

Your right, neck lines i hate. It may be done already but, is it possible for decal makers to maker COLLAR stripes in any color.

1) Half circle

2) Open "V"

WITH THE SKIN TONE AS A DECAL IN THE " V" AND circle. With the line going up to the shoulder then stop.

Thanx

Default WHAT DO YOU PUT YOUR DECALS IN

COACHES,

What do you fill with water to decal.

I use a mini ice tray. The boxes on the tray are small and perfect to put the decals in. Each decal has it's own box. I think there are 96 boxes on this tray. I THINK. This way when i knock the decal around a little to get it of the paper it is slamming into the four walls of the box. PERFECT ! I found them at this little store and have not seen any since. When you use a cup or some sort of container, aren't the decals are all floating around together. That would drive me crazy. These small boxes are just a little bigger than the jersey numbers that go on the back.

I dont do a set number of figures until they are completed. I will do all helmet logos and nothing else. NEXT, all numbers, then all names, then all glloves, then i always talk myself out of doing the shoe decals.

It's easier for me to do just one side of the helmet for all first. The next day do the other side. I found if i did both side at once, when you have set the second side just right, sometimes the other side moves just slightly. Maybe my hand or the brush hit it. 1 side and let it dry.

Dre,
You can just use a wet sponge to place the dry decals on rather than dropping them in a container of water.

Default Me too

LOL, I agree G, and I had to listen to ya bit***n in the back room till 3am putting decals on Clemson when we were at Miggle whilst I bit**d about tweakin base till 3am

Hey, here's a profound idea, perhaps we should NOT wait to last minute !!!!

All kiddin aside, I truly don't enjoy the painting/ decal thing all hat much, (rather be fishin, RD????) however, I still want to to do it myself as good or bad as it might turn out. To my point above, however, I do believe if I didn't wait to last minute and did a "bit" at a time, I would probably enjoy it and maybe actually finish a team totally some day.
