Good advice from Reggie, anytime you can be sued seek legal counsel. If you are offered a settlement that you can live with, especially if you know you are on the short end, take it and run with it. In most cases a plaintiff, the person suing you can recover all cost to bring suit, to include attorney cost, filing cost, expenses and in some cases triple the actual damages they are seeking. Once they get a judgment against you, they can garnish your wages, place a lien on your home, your vehicles, your business or anything else of value you may own. The NFL and NCAA are serious, so I wouldn't play chicken with them.
