Post This message is strictly for Joe Greco!

Joe,

It was an honor and priviledge seeing yourself and Zack. I know you were on the rules committee and all. I know that you know the game and your integrity, in my opinion, is beyond reproach. I, as well as many others thought you were managing the game excellent with respect to both coaches. Then all of a sudden boom, a big change, and both the tempo (game clocks taken from you), and the outcome (shake box taken from you) changed dramatically. Why?, because you needed support. SAYS WHO? What was so wrong?

What we really need is a standalone convention not dependent upon glory seekers who define themselves, by any means necessary, through winning and losing. To depend on a person to set your rules then cast him aside like a "cheap trick" is a clear indication of willfull intent to do something. But why? This year really brought some things to the forefront.

I also played Corey in the MFCAL Championship Game. I wound up advancing by playing the Al Dunhams Zombies against his Sabsquatch team, then playing Chris Fields and several others for fun.

I lost that championship game the same way I got there by opening myself up to learn a new rule set. Although there were some rough spots in that game I fully understand that there was no way Corey and Adrian could cover every rule no matter how hard they tried. We had a great game and I didn't feel uncomfortable, cheated, or otherwise although I gave Corey the business for that handoff rule. After all, it was a championship game and he returned the favor by nullifying a fumble that would have given him the ball. With a few exceptions, and with no disrespect, the NEFL rules have far more pace and fairness than Shootout and can possibly resolve some of the issues back here. I may have lost a game but I gained so much knowledge by having the deversity to accept and respect another man's game. It makes me feel like a winner.

Thanks Joe and Corey.

I will be contacting you as well as others as the MFCA is deserving of a league that supports their mission statement, not a buddy.

Default TREKS

Hey treks,

YOU MEAN, not the coaches point challenge. But a straight up MFCA rule set that everyone around the country would know. Then have a tourney with that ruleset like miggle.

Default My 2 cents

If you were to have the next years championship in Vegas... we would probably have a 32 team bracket (I need not say anymore... but I will)

*West Coast will most likely be 20-25 teams alone... (counting play in's)

*BIG 10, will represent 10+ teams... maybe-maybe not... if not then maybe the CBSMF powers that be will understand travel hardships (saying you understand travel hardships then still attack by saying there is "no support" in the same thread is just ridiculous)

*SWC, 4-8 teams

*Independents 3-5 teams

THIS LARGE OF A TOURNEY WOULD BE:
*HUGE FOR THE CBSMF(to deny this opportunity would be just plain stupid)
*HUGE FOR RECRUITING
*HUGE FOR UNITY AND FELLOWSHIP
*BENEFICIAL towards making West coast teams hungry to travel to other stats the following year after they see how fun it is to see other coach's style of play
*Watts, Roller, Jennings, Michigan Joe amongst many other east and south EFers would become over night celebrities when they show what they have to offer to the EF world out here
*West coast EFers have a lot to teach EFers across the country as well
*Everyone who comes to vegas... loves vegas... I love Canton but the offers they offer does not come close to what vegas can offer

Maybe I miss understood Reggie... but to say/ask in few words, "why come to you when you dont come to us???" I ASK THE SAME QUESTION!

Aja, Myself, Rick G, Hall of Famer Mike Turner, future Hall of Famer Jeff Eby and Eric Thomson... Have proven the west coast is deserving of favor returned

I hate to say, I see a storm coming and I hope im wrong

The objective is to leave that piece in place for those that don't play in a league or the specific league. We have discussed a three pronged plan that will combine what we have with Miggle style play in, MFCAL, and the third part which will combine rulesets that provide options to both coaches that play by the same or different rule sets.

Dre,

I was the webmaster when many people joined the Great Lakes. Steve and I had coaches interviews and tons of other information that we think will rightfully provide our membership with every tool imaginable to play their game regardless to college, pro, bozo's, NHFL. Our thought process is that by exposing those members to the many alternatives available for play, we can generate a huge turnout for our fellow members. A WE thing!

No exclusions, all inclusive.

Already have a site to start, it will be donated. Get your team ready.

Default My 2 cents

I believe the CBSMF playoffs need a separate venue from the MFCA Convention. To truly participate in the CBSMF playoffs (playing and reffing) left you little time for anything else.

I know I missed out on doing things I wanted to do and playing coaches that I would have liked to because I dedicated my time to the CBSMF.

To me the first MFCA Convention was the best (except for my son breaking his wrist) because all we had was the MFCA tourny which encouraged you to play 8 other coaches and use different rulesets. I had more fun playing guys I never get to play and playing when I wanted to.

This is not a knock against the CBSMF, I just think it needs its own event. If they are going to be held together next year I can assure you I would not participate in the CBSMF playoffs.

When we initially formed the Great Lakes the objective was for two guys to be able to sit across a table and play one another. By doing so it promoted fellowship and trust. Too much complexity can be time consuming and take away from the MFCA experience. Luckily for me I stayed at the Stearn Center and was able to get things done outside competitive play. I loved the competition but my "breakfast club" was truly a blast. I am working on an article regarding one of the greatest MF experience. We definitely need to get some of those guys off the sidelines. That's my motivation.

Default MFcA

I see the MFCA holding its own convention again.

The mission is fellowship and participation and I can see the event moving to different regions of the country, keeping in mind that when the MFCA was formed it was divided up into regions of the country so that all coaches can participate.

The Board of Dirctors will open up a separate post for discussion from the body regarding where we may hold next year's Convention.
