Roy Williams
Guys,
I agree! Football has become soft in the past few years with all the rule changes, but I hate that guy "Roy Williams". I've said it to many of my friends, "He's a dirty ball player." Did you see what he did to Rod Smith of the Broncos in a Pro Bowl game 2 years ago? Totally uncalled for! He's a dirty player! Period! Smitty |

I'm'm A Die Hard Cowboy Fan Of Almost 30 Years And...
ROY WILLIAMS IS A DISGRACE TO THE COWBOYS NATION AND THE DALLAS COWBOYS ORGANIZATION!!!!!!It's Bad Enough He's Been Getting Burned All Season, With Wr's Within 1 Yard Of Him ( Something That Barely Ever Happen To Darren Woodson), And Then To Be Still Committing A Penalty That Was Named After Him. There Was Never A Penalty Causing Cliff Harris Tackle, Or Charlie Waters And Michael Downs. He Is a Professional Football player On One Of The Greatest Franchises In Sports History, And He Needs To Start Acting Like It. The Cowoys Should Fine Him Every Time He Gets That Penalty, And Should Be Told That His Job Is In Questioning Every Time He Commits That Penalty. Because Trust Me Cowboy's Legendary Coach Tom Landry Would Have Never Tolerated That Kind Of Behavior Or Performance, Trust Me. Thank You For Bring Up A Subject That Has Burning Me Up All Season Long.
And By The Way, Another Cowboy Player That's Wasting Cowboy Fans Time Is The No Tackle Breaking Julius Jones. He's A Disgrace To The Long Running Back Legacy Of The Dallas Cowboys ( Duane Thomas, Calvin Hill, Walt Garrison, Robert Newhouse, Tony Dorsett, Ron Springs, Hershel Walker, Emmitt Smith). A Cowboy Or Any Rb Should Never Go Down On First Contact And Be Brought Down By One Defender. Marion Barber Should Be The Starting Rb, He Deserves It And Earned It A Long Time Ago. Doomsday78,
Marion Barber is one of the toughest RB in the league. He should be the starter. The NFL has a way of being a copy cat league. As soon as one team starts doing something the rest follow. Hence a two back system. In my opinion the Cowboys would be better off starting Barber. He can block, catch and RUN! He is a three down back. |

My two cents on the subject
I have been a die-hard Cowboys fan all my life, but first and formost, I am a fan of the NFL and I do not like what I see.
First, we are going to change the logo of the NFL shield...BIG MISTAKE. Second, celebrations are no longer allowed...again...BIG MISTAKE. Third, the rules protect the quarterbacks way to much...BIG MISTAKE. Fourth, the rules handicapp the defenses so much it is no longer fair. Horse collar tackles used to be taught back when I played in high school. Anyway to get the guy down, short of a clothes line was acceptable...what next...you can't go low on a guy to tackle him? Fifth, in Roy Williams case, I have to agree with some of the other comments...he sucks! He can't tackle, he is slow on the blitz, he cannot cover even a tide end like Shockey and he makes very poor deceisions over all. It is time to put someone else in there and leave them in there. Let Pat Watkins develop, give him some time to play. He hits hard, he is fast and he does not give up on a play. Keith Davis is also another strong safety that is better than Williams. Perhaps some competition would make him play better... Finally, this is just for all my Cowboy fan brothers...so everyone else move on to the next post....I am starting a "support group" in the event the Cowboys fail to make the Superbowl...I swear, if we lose the first game in the playoffs I am liable to go jump off a bridge somewhere, however in my heart of hearts I still believe this is our year and that not only are we going to make the playoffs, but we will NOT be facing the Patriots...I repeat...the Patriots are playing bad football right now and I can see the Jaguars or Colts winning...so the Superbowl is still in our grasp...hopefully this loss will be a wake up call to the team. It is time for another seven game winning streak! GO COWBOYS!

Football is a product
The NFL wants these guys to play for a while so they are doing what they can to tone it down a bit. With the kind of atheletes these guys are is very wasy to end someone playing days.Look at the qbs in the league it would be hard to replace D Mcnabb and its a better way to tackle then that!!

Hee, Hee, Haa, Haa Hey Silverhorse....
I See You, I Hear You, And I'M With You Bro.....yeah If You Know The Boys, You Should Have Known Somebody Was Going Catch Us Slipping, And It Has Always Been Them Dog On Eagles. Don't Forget They Ended Michael Irving And Moose Johnston Career. And Sunday's Was A Perfect Example With All The Injurys We Got, We're Going To Have To Really Cowboy Up, To Make It Through The Play-offs. But It Just Isn't Us Even The Pats Struggled Against The Jets, Losing Teams Always Play Harder At The End Of Their Seasons. They're Still Mad, Hungry And Very Emotional, And That Makes Them Dangerous. Hopefully That Sucker Punch We Got, Will Give Us Our Fight And Focus Back. You Know The Boys Always Need A Bad Game To Get Them Fired Up. And Even If We Don't Make It To The Big Show, A First Time Ever Record 12 -1 Is A Big Step In The Right Direction. Stay Encouraged Cowboys Nation, We're On Our Way To Glory Again.......stay Tune And Keep Your Popcorn Hot, Baby

RJackson
I agree with RJackson, when you are playing you better be "fully on" and looking to cream somebody. I want my men to tackle first then think later, not the other way around, too bad you can no longer play it like that, It's hard to play such an aggressive sport and then think about holding back or modifying your tackle at the last second.
Football has become a money game, these rules were put in place to protect every team's multi-million dollar investments. Back in the day when the best player was only getting a million or so a year the game was different. Now with team salaries, television rights, commercials, etc, etc...it's all about the money and their need to protect themselves financially. It's a shame it has taken a little of the rawness from the game in my opinion. My two cents... Shabby J Last edited by Shabby J : 12-19-2007 at 01:34 AM. Reason: spelling |

I Agree w/RJ as well
I Agree w/RJ as well regarding the over reaction to Roy Williams tackle. I hate Dallas, but I think Roy Williams is a hard working hard hitting DB. He is made from the same mold as Dennis Thurman, Jack Tatum, & Ronnie Lott. Also, there was a hard hitting DB named Chuck Cecil who played for the Cards a few years back. He was pretty much fined and abolished from the league for his hard hits. The great Jim Brown once told me that the hardest hit he ever took was from Pat Fisher of the Washington Redskins, a 5 '7" 1??lb White Guy. I played DB, and would take you down by any means within the rules. If I had to bend the rules, then so be it. Never tried to hurt anybody purposely, but played hard to knock their asses out. Try being a DB defending on a sweep after fighting of a blocking WR with a pulling center, guards, tackles, and a lead back coming at you...I'm going to get any piece of the ball carrier that I can. Hey NFL...how about some football, not pus*y ball. Pats.. best of all-time yeah right..where is the competition?
GO DOLPHINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is what I have been saying about the NFL all along (BS, & Hype 4 Profit). They want to fine guys for big hits and such, but then turn around and sell them in the form of Crunch Course Football Follies (End Zone Celebrations included), & Hardest Hit DVDs. If this is not hypocrisy, then I don't know what is. As I said many times, the NFL is pretty unwatchable these days. The last two weeks, I opted to run errands rather than watch the garbage that was being shown on CBS, FOX, & NBC. Monday night football is awful as well. Don't even mention Thursday night football, those of you with out NFL Network aint missin nuthin. Believe that! Last edited by kotixblack : 12-19-2007 at 02:14 AM. |
