Please, Please, Please.....
....For the love of GOD 5-13 and VINCE, look at Deuce's stats for 3 games. **** the high pass, look at his stats for 3 games and you tell me was it the line. Come on VINCE you and I know that you have to be a special player to play in the league man. Come on folks this conversation is ridiculous. Let Reggie Bush get in a Cowboy uniform then. See what we do with him in the backfield. You clowns are crazy. I will take Bush any day over gily ********** Julius Jones. Julius has a line and still can't get out the backfield and make nobody miss, now VINCE he's soft as cotton.
Marion Barber now that's a stud hands down, any arguments there??? Much harder runner then AP, any arguments there???? He has done his things against every defense in the league and the Patriots!!! He had half of Deuce's stats in the Pat's game on 9 carries against the number 4 defense in the NFL. They had to abandon the run because they fell behind. Now partner him with Reggie Bush in the backfield on 3rd down. Owens and a Healthy Glenn on the outside. Witten or Crayton in the slot. Who you double teaming??? What I am trying to get you so-called all americans of evaluating talent is that Bush is a unique guy in which yeah he hasn't mastered the in between tackle running yet but give him time Sean's system is really not suited for him. If he was in Tennessee wit VY and Thunder (Lindale) in the shotgun spread he would be unstoppable. If he was in New England they would be blowing folks out worst then what they are doing. So please stop it with your evaluating of talent. If that was the case you guys would be in the league helping one of the 32 teams out. My dawg Coach Clayton Lopez had this to say about Reggie Bush and he has coached in the league since 1999 with the Seahawks, Raiders and now the Lions. He told me that Reggie Bush's main issue is he is not patient enough, once he gets the ball he is too quick to give up on a play instead of slowing down and letting the play develop. He said once he slows the game down a little he will be fine. He said as far as talent goes he is one of the best backs he has seen since he has been in the league coaching. So now with that said are you going to tell someone that has been in the league dealing with these players day in and day out, and has broken down numerous game films from being a quality control guy first, that you can eval talent better then he can?? For those of you that don't know what a quality control coach does, he does just that breaks down each play on every team that his team plays the next week and categorize them in situational downs!!! EVERY PLAY!! I am done with this conversation. Back to MF!!! |

Reggie Bush
Guys,
Once they figure you out, you are toast! The word in the NFL on Reggie Bush is he's not tough. He can't or don't like to run between the tackles. He's good coming out of the back field because LB's and nickle backs can't stay with him. Other than that, he's a step above Devin Hester of the Bears. Speed. If you take good angles, you can corner him. But he needs a Duce to showcase his talents. Like a basketball shooter who needs a pick to shoot his jump shot: he can't create his own shots! Smitty |

i can't say whether deuce's stats over the first 3 games were poor because of poor o-line work, bad running decisions, playcalling, whatever. all that i know is that what i saw of the first three games, the WHOLE team looked confused. they all played terribly, offense and defense.
now, if we want to go by stats, the saints have only given up 13 sacks this season. that's the lowest amount in the league. IF their o-line is that terrible, that number should be much higher for as much as they have passed the ball this season. i can only speculate on this, but i have a feeling that sean payton's inexperience as a coach may have shown this season. he may have tried to do too much and fell into the trap of out-thinking himself. the rule that i have always heard with football is K.I.S.S., keep-it-simple-stupid. again, all of that is just speculation.

No one understands the point I was trying to make. Reggie Bush will not be tested as a runner until two things happen:
1. his carries per game are increased. 2. his offensive line blocking gets better. 513 made a point about the Saints not giving up sacks but Drew Brees is only averaging 6.9 yards per pass completion and he is throwing 75% of the time. How hard is it to block for a quarterback on a 3-step drop-and-throw? When you are throwing that many passes and running so little, you have to get rid of it sooner as the defense will not even bother to play the run. Run clear outs, throw underneath and use the short pass as a running game. Didn't the Saints have like 4 plays from the 1yd line against the Eagles and could not score? Some offensive line huh? I'm not impressed. Coach Peyton is getting exactly what he wants apparently as the stats are just so consistent from week to week. Plus, the Saints Defense is really bad this year. Hard to run the ball when you are constantly giving up points. The best thing for the Saints is to build a good offensive line and a good defense. Brees can do the rest. |

funny thread....
you guys are funny when you get on the Reggie Bush thang....
My take is this.... Bush is soft and it has nothing to do with the line.... don't look just at this season, go back to last year.... Duce was MR Inside and Bush was MR Outside. If he developes a toughness like W.Dunn to run inside, then maybe he EARNS more carries. Why do you think the Texans passed on him and Vince Young (under-developed QB) and took Super Mario........ you can always find the next RB and QB's are "game-managers" more noww than just passers....but great DE are a rare breed K-LO Last edited by Coach K-LO : 12-26-2007 at 12:10 PM.
