I will say I was EXTREMELY SKEPTICAL when I first heard and started reading about this Burgess system. It didn't make any sense to me. I thought it sounded like it would slow things down too much and take the fun out of the game. I had to watch the DVD and actually see two pros play it out in slow motion to fully comprehend and appreciate it.

I have done a complete 180 degree turn now and fully endorse the Burgess system.
Now please, understand, I only know of and have played two systems so far: The way the Bama Blast league plays and the Burgess way.
And hands down, the Burgess way blows the doors off the Bama way IMHO in terms of football simulation and strategy.
We have made some minor tweaks to the Burgess system, and have incorporated some things from some of the other rulebooks around the country as well, but not that many. We also have put some of our own home cookin flavor in. But at its core element, our rulebook is now very close to Burgess'.

I also want to say I love EF and I am still willing to play in leagues and tournaments that have different rule sets than Burgess'. I enjoy MF in all the different formats. Each league and rule set offers different things to try and strategy around. So they are all good. I am open minded. And I certainly I am not trying to start any kind of argument here.

I'm just saying that my favorite way to play is the Burgess way now.
