Usual high quality NFL films camera work...

but as I explained earlier via a phone call to Weirdwolf...

I just wish the media would start presenting us like ESPN presents Madden Nation and not some sort of offbeat football related Novelty act.

Its almost like they laugh "at us", not so much "with us".

:o

I mean, if I was just looking at that piece, without knowing all I do now about the hobby here, I would see that piece and say to myself, "LOOK at those GEEKS! What goofballs."

I'm still hoping that some day some where a major news outlet covers us like ESPN covers Madden Nation.

I play both. But this is way better.

You'd never know it by watching Madden Nation. (which I just happened to stumble upon because of ESPN's scheduling snafu.)

Default Bigfranco...Here is the answer 2 ur question

Bigfranco I posted this (below) about a week ago. It got plenty of views but no replys. I voice this opinion on the board for all EF/MF coaches to see, so that we can look in the mirror and change for the betterment of the hobby. One other point. Michigan Joe posted today that he found a video on youtube that the LAEFL had done. The video was done in 2005 and is rarely referenced on this board, or any other EF/MF board (why is that?), when it is and should be used as a marketing tool for EF/MF. I think coaches figure, if it aint me then I aint gonna promote it. That is the wrong attitude. Your first concern should be that the hobby is being represented in a way that, you would join if you were not currently involved.

What is that saying?...something about you don't realize what a good thing you had until it is gone...Man there is alot of complaining, whining, and crying all over nothing in my humble opinion. I think that is what make people not want to get involved with this hobby. Lots of people are interested in the beginning, it may be out of curiosity, or just remembering that they tried to play (could not get their men to run correctly, running in circles) as a kid. As I have said many times before, we need to look in the mirror, and ask the question..."would I want to associate with a group of grown men who cry, whine, and constantly complain"? Life is too precious to waste with a group of guys who can't meet in the middle and come up with solutions to their problems. I think something is seriously wrong, and sad if these little plastic men define an individuals existance and receiving credit as the greatest EF/MF is that important. If not for Miggle, the majority of us would not have found that the hobby still exists, and has evolved to such a high level game play, stragities, and as a hobby with the decaling and painting, and customization of figures. Miggle has tried to appease us several times, but no matter what they do we complain. They have made the 67 Big Men available - complaint - "they are not as good as the o/gs", Boat Bases - "The're too big, I can't get them to run right", O/G Frosties - "It's not fair, people can cheat by BOILING them". That is just 3 products to name a few that Miggle has been raked over the coals about. They stoped making the Boilables, and Boats, now they go for as much as $10ea. on line. I for one have suffered by not being able to purchase products I like from Miggle because by trying to give good customer service, they listen to the complainers, whiners, and cryers. One more example...they make a new 620 that everyone including myself has been urging them to...what happens, they get ripped a new one. Also, a new company called Excalliber makes a EF/MF game board and men. They get ripped a new one before the original a#* hole can be completely formed. If I were Excalliber, I would not invest $ in a group that does not support and encourage my product. Guys on this fourm always ask why do the media portray the game as a joke, and us as Nerds, Dweebs, & Geeks...I just described the answer to you in great detail (LOOK IN THE MIRROR).

Default All I can say is WOW!

I just saw the piece on You-tube and I am actually a little teary eyed...plus I was excited to see myself in it for my 4 seconds of fame.

But in all honesty...this is a testament to all of you guys who play the game...all of you are great "people" and it was so enjoyable to watch Norbert, Big Keith, Ron and Lynn in the interview part...you guys were very classy...thank you for just being a part of this hobby...this piece is a dream come true and it will only strength our sport and aid in recruitment of new coaches.

God Bless Miniature Football and all who play it!

Default Very nice piece

They did do a nice job. With this bit and the Nissan one, from the LAEFL, we have something to build on....................and not to miggle bash, but when landsman found out about the commercial, he put the clamps on BuzzBall and others because he owned the " electric football" name..that Nissan commercial could have been soooo much more, but it was really good the way it came out anyway. The LA guys deserve great praise!

I think we are starting to grow, as a hobby, at a faster rate than we had two years ago, ..........and the more guys we can get into the hobby and get them excited,.............the faster our growth rate will increase.

Eventually, we will hit a critacal mass where we will grow exponentially, but I think that is a ways away, ..............but that is the natural progression, I hope we can get there within five years.

Thumbs up Thanks

Hey gang this is Chris, the fellow who directed the piece. Just wanted to thank everyone who was at last year's convention (and thank everyone for the kind comments in this thread). Steve Sabol said it might be the best Presents piece of the season, and during the company screening the theater was loving it. So we consider the show a great success. Clearly we couldn't have done it w/out you guys. I truly enjoyed the convention and it's one of the all-time favorite gigs of my career.

Just a note-- the youtube version is missing about the first 2-minutes of the piece. We think it's 2-minutes of really funny stuff from NFL coaches about EF. Maybe someone will update the link with the full piece. I think it would be worth it. Also, we didn't intend to laugh "at" anyone, but we certainly intended to laugh "with" you all-- after all, it's a fun game that comes with a lot of laughs.

Before I leave, I have a slight mooch: I typically get a souvenir from every shoot I work on. We were on a tight schedule on the last day of shooting and I left w/out grabbing something. I'd really love to get a Cowboys miniature to put in my office next to my previous souvenirs. If someone can help me out, I'd be grateful.

Thanks again guys, was a lot of fun.

Thanks Chris for coming on. I am sure you will get that Cowboy player your looking for. Do you want that with or without Jessica attached.

Nice job by NFL Films! You guys presented the truth and made it fun to watch. I just wish the Super bowl game would of been played back at high speed instead of what it was in reality.
