It It Ain't Broke ...
don't fix it Steve!
You guys do a great job with what you got going on in the GLEFL! Like I said, if it works for your league, by all means play. As long as you're having fun with what you do, that's all that count. I for one am definitely not knocking what has been successful for you. Reg |

Speed...
In my mind, the #1 thing that 4.0 brings to the table is the speed of the players.
From what I have seen, on a good board, the speed is excellent - and addicting. Looking forward...I think this is a key "selling point" to new players/coaches. It changes your perception of what electric football is...(well for guys that know it from back in the 70's at least)...and for newcomers it makes the game much more interesting and exciting. |

I agree about the speed. If you're playing with 3.2 figures, it seems you have to play so slow...I get bored, and it becomes just a kid game. With 3.5 - 4.0 players you have more realizm and the game moves better. Also the players look SO much better. It's time to grow..

Good for you
My board is not slow and neither are my players.
Even the title of this post clearly suggest that coaches who play 3.2 are playing with an out-dated system. How is moving up in weight growing? What are you talking about? Nothing childish about 3.2. That's just your opinion and you are welcome to it but obviously not everyone agrees.

Wow
Smilin, you cats gotta see some talented 3.2's I see, (smile) there are EF figures at 3.2 with a TTC base that can run a watts board in 3 seconds EASY here in the GLEFL, OH,........and they don't wobble and hopscotch when running, they glide at high speeds with grace, Coaches, to me any weight is fine, (I LOVE ALL STYLES AND WEIGHTS), it just seems that in this post and others, Coaches feel as though ONLY 4.0 and higher cats run smooth and fast, THAT IS NOT THE CASE, TRUST ME.
P.S. Video below shows my slow TTC wide receivers, my TTC free safties BLOW them out the water. P.S. REG, I love you baby, but I know for sure a 4.0 team wouldn't beat me 70-3 (smile). Norbert Revels http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-lJ5...highlights.htm Notice how the chiefs take off, they all are around 3.0, they run smooth and fast, with some power. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g5uy...highlights.htm

When you get Treks Revved Up...
and Norby, you've done something!
Please let it be decreed, that I did not start this. It was Mantaray Dre! I agree with you guys to play what best interest you. I love 3.2 grams. I love 4.0 grams. I love to play. Norby and Steve, not need to get upset. Your points are well taken! I am a of both! Reg |

I bet my last buck....
....that a 3.2 team couldn't hang wit a 4.0 team. It is no way possible the law of physics makes it undesireable to play a team at a lower weight!! If that is the case the boiled bases issue wouldn't be an issue!!

Im just trying to find out where 3.2 started and became the standard
Coaches,
First off, im very happy to see we can have a diplomatic discussion without any turmoil. Thanx Im trying to find out where the 3.2 standard came to fruition. years ago, in a galaxy called electric football, many coaches purchased figure's and bases. There were some who brought haiti repro, tudor regular size men and 67 big men. If you put these fig's on bases, i would assume some weighed 2.7 or 2.3, maybe some weighed 2.2 or even 2.1. Who was the one guy in ef history who wrote the " DECLARATION OF MEN-DEPENDENCE' AND SAID 3.2 is going to be electric football's standard. Who is the one guy who decided this and why 3.2. IM ASKING BECAUSE I DONT KNOW. There are some who say the smaller the fig the better. WHY DO YOU THINK THAT ? There are some who feel a bigger fig is better. WHY DO YOU THINK THAT ? WHO CAN MAKE A CASE FOR EITHER OR ? I remember SMITTY saying he does not like the 67 big men blocker's, he prefers the smaller one's due to there performance on the line !!! Back to the original question, WHO DECLARED 3.2 the weight of the world. THIS IS NOT KNOCKING 3.2, JUST TRYING TO FIND OUT THE HISTORY OF IT. Why did'nt someone say 2.6 is the standard, or 3.0. How did we get to 3.2 ? THIS IS A FRIENDLY DIPLOMATIC POST, WE ALL NEED TO KNOW THE HISTORY OF THIS SO WE CAN PREPARE FOR THE FUTURE !!!!! MANTARAY.

3.2 vs 4.0 Match-up?
I am sure guys have played this match-up before...although it would be fun to see 2 experienced coaches square off in this format.
Not that it would necessarily prove, one way or another, if the weight makes a difference...but you think it would be a good test...(I think if you played 5-10 games that way, you might have a better idea....) All in the interest of good fun...because after all...this is entertainment. BTW...I realized after my earlier post, that my reference to YouTube with regard to 4.0 players may have been wrong...:o A lot of the videos I watched were LAEFL...aren't the weight limits there 3.3? Either way...if you can get those guys movng like that...and like in the video that Norbert posted, that's what makes it exciting (in my book), regardless of the weight... |
