experimental results
TV's Chachi you always make so much sense. Lets share our experimental results, I'll start...
I have done a lot of experimenting recently with weight, tweaking, and every kind of base imagineable. I will try to start sharing some of my "data". For starters, my absolute favorite "weighted" base is none other than the speed diamond bases. I first came arcoss this when combining these speed bases with FF.com figures (ironic huh?!? ). Anyways, my absolute favorite running players are on the speed diamond bases and weighted to 4.0 (I didn't even try to go above that weight). What I've experienced is that I don't have to squeeze the speed diamonds when I add the weight, just make sure to eliminate the flash on the tips and to insure they have a slight backwards angle). These are my absolute fastest players and when someone came by today I showed them what the "new game of electric football" was by demonstrating these weighted players. They were like WOW! Can you imagine, no real tweaking and they are my fastest and smoothest bases! To get the speed diamonds to run this way with light figures requires squeezing of the prongs to thin them out and make them less stiff. Also the weighted base have FAR less deviation of going off line. The Pro Line strong rookies on the other hand don't have the same results with added weight (I believe it is because the prongs are soft to start with), but these base are real nice for non-balanced figures and fast board speed since they have the widest and most stable prong configuration. MY conclusion: the combination of the prong style (length, stiffness, shape) with the weight and balance of the figure is what matters to make them perform consistently.

NICE Joe!
This the type of data we need! |

Oh, and as far as strength this comination at 4.0 is weak as compared to my 3.2 teams with tweaked TTCs. So....maybe weight is actually more advantagous for speed rather than strength. The testing and experimantion will continue.
