![]() Dan Marino....without a doubt. His arm and leadership was all that the Miami offense had for many years...He was successful despite the fact that everyone knew he was going to throw almost all of the time, since Miami had an awful running game. Long after Dan was no longer very mobile....and he wasn't very mobile to begin with....Dan Marino's arm got it done.
Favre was a great one....certainly top 5....but the interception tally (including a lot of truly horrible throws...bad decisions...especially in the later years) does take something away from his status. I always have a hard time picking the other top QB's....but Staubach, Fouts, Montana, Steve Young, Peyton Manning, Tom Brady, John Elway and Unitas are definitely up there. I kind of take away something from Brady, Young, Montana and Manning because of the system and team talent that surrounds(ed) them. Fouts had great talent...and a pass happy system....but he did it in an era when the passing game was not favored by the rules and QB's took a beating. Fouts was a great leader....just like Staubach and Unitas. Elway was probably the second best QB behind Marino...but he had a better team built around him....and he had a fabulous running game when he won his championships. |

![]() Bradshaw never gets the recognition like the other great qb's. He may have been the best ever at throwing the long ball.

![]() Aikman, was easily the most accurate Qb of all-time. Even his imcompletions were on the money, usually a drop, or just a good defensive play. No one could throw the deep in, or deep out with so much on it.

![]() I think it's one of these 4 guys...(I love Bradshaw...very strong arm...but his elbow ruined what should have been the best, most accurate years of his career...)
Aikman Favre Marino Elway Aikman had the highest completion %: 61.5 reg season and 63.5 playoffs and of course 3 SBs Favre was next with: 61.4 reg season and 60.7 playoff...with 1 ring and 1 SB loss Marino was 3rd: 59.4 reg season and 56.0 playoffs - he had the least successful playoffs...1 SB loss Elway had 56.9 reg season and 54.6 playoffs...but he has 2 rings and 3 SB loses One guy that deserves mention and probably would have had even more enormous numbers had he not played 5 years in th CFL is Warren Moon...he had a strong arm and was pretty accurate too (around 60%)...like Marino, he never got the ring... |
