Default Just my opinion-

In my opinion Convention attendance was down this year.

As always some great coaches were in attendance. There is and I hope there will always be, a dedicated group of people that will coach an play no matter where the convention is held. And for you guys that wanted a warm weather venue, you got it!!! A special thanks to Fran (and his wife) who opened up his home on Friday for some scrimmaging and fellowship.

Now back to the topic. As far as foot-traffic and the public coming through the doors, it was a disappointment. I can't speak for Sunday, but on Saturday, only a few people from the community came by with teams or were curious about the game. It was fun, but did it advance the hobby? I dunno ..... Perhaps the work done by NFL Films may have an impact....

I do not know of a magical formula to what I see as being a problem. The size of the city may be one issue, the existance of an established League another. I always thought they should combine the convention with a sports card show or something to get more poeple involved......

I do hope the Convention will find its way out West at some point as the L.A. boys deserve a home game... But in MY opinion the true home of electric football is in the Midwest and East!!!!

Shameless plug time:

THE CONVENTION NEEDS TO MAKE A STOP IN MICHIGAN. PERIOD.

It's hard to believe that we have yet to host a convention. Brian Wytcop (S.P.? "Wolverine" on Miggle Chat Board), and I and others have been pushing for a convention here for some time. Jimmy Davis and I did put some pressure on Miggle Toys to do the right thing next year and bring the show home.... We have an established League in the Metro area and MANY other coaches across the State. We share a boarder with both Indiana and Ohio with Illinois right accross the big lake. We can get a Superbowl, but not a convention?
C-mon. Quite frankly we've been snubbed. Its time we got our due. There are Embassy Suites in Livonia, Troy, all over the place. I have some contacts with a radio station that put us on (WRIF Detroit) when the Miggle Stadium first came out. I believe we will have a great deal of media attention and a well attended event from the general public. Heck, every male I know close to my age around here had or played the game. Detroit is a great sports town and would eat-up a convention. Folks it's time......

MICHIGAN!

MICHIGAN!

MICHIGAN!

my three cents. Steve.

Default Agreed!

I had a great time at the convention. However, I only feel it fair that we get our due also. I have either driven or flown all over the country now to play. There is no way Miggle cannot benefit from having a centrally located convention. There has always been a bedrock of financial and moral support for the company. Their are tons of coaches, solitaire players probably outnumber them in Michigan. I recently went around the corner and met a guy with a basement full of EF, almost like mines. Many of the fellas' at the job talk about the game so there will be no shortage of walk ins'. I remember meeting Shawn Ballegion (I KNOW that's spelled wrong) from WDFN when he was doing EF challenge throughout the metro area every Friday night. It felt good being called a "Professional Electric Football Player" instead of a EF Geek. I know he would be "all over" this. He is a feature guy instead of a field guy so the clout issue should not be problem.

I know that Mike and Delayne will give this careful consideration should we approach this properly. I know that this convention can be the mother of all mothers on a par with Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Cleveland. I personally say keep pressing the message board, conjure up ideas, and let's get that baby rapped up and sold. I think the groundwork has already been laid. D-Town for 2008! What say all!

PS. Treks give me a call bro!

I vote for Detroit also even though I live in KC. You guys have a huge number of players and that is the key to getting this off to a new level. I also think that connecting with a card show would be HUGE for the hobby. In fact, thats the next thing I am going to approach here in KC. It only makes sense.

I actually think either St. Louis or Kansas City would be a fun place. Its close to being smack dab in the middle of the country so coaches would have a much easy time getting there.

Default vote for Atlanta or Charlotte

I vote for Atlanta or Charlotte! Both cities would be great hosts for the convention!
