Default Athletes Are Not Grunts

Life is about choices. Chad chose to be an athlete. In that choice, I am sure he did not choose to be an athlete with a mediocre team. Due to that choice, he is not in Iraq. I being a veteran of Desert Storm understand that once bullets start flying one has no choice but to stay and fight. Crying about it will result in a quick death. That is the difference between grunts and athletes.

Chad Johnson, Eli Manning, John Elway, and Tony Dorsett are and were not faced with death; therefore, they can and could afford to dispute a contract deal with a team. Eli Manning was drafted by the Chargers. He rejected their interest in him. He is now a Super Bowl champion as a result of his dispute. John Elway was drafted by the Baltimore Colts. He refused to play for them. Lord knows where his football legacy would have been if he went there. It probably would have been in baseball. Tony Dorsett was drafted by the Seahawks before the Cowboys acquired him. If he had played in Seattle during that time, I don’t think his legacy would have been much. Refusing to play in Seattle positioned him to be one of the most prolific runners in the game under Tom Landry.

Default My Point Is...

...soldiers DON'T have a choice to change teams or go stateside when times get tuff. Chad (and all the other crybabies) should just zip it and do their best regardless of what their teams are doing. Maybe they should step up and stop bringing drama to the team and be a part of the solution. everyday they wake up they should (A) pray they aren't overseas and (B) pray for those that are!!! OUR TROOPS ARE DODGING BULLETS SO THAT THE "PROS" CAN DODGE THEIR CONTRACTS. DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.

Default It's Entertainment

Yes, it is the military that keep this country free from the rule of a foreign power. I don’t look at sports as a world-changing event. I keep sports in its perspectives. It’s entertainment; therefore, I have no problem with any player who wishes to leave a team that does not have the same desire to win like the Cincinnati Bengals.

Due to the fact that Chad is under contract, he has only two choices. Either play football for the Bengals or retire. That’s the business. If I were in that position, I would just play for the team that I signed with.
