i saw where the nfl network ranked the saints lb's #1 all time (mills, jackson, swilling). as a linebacking corp, they were amazing, but they still didn't hold up to the giants and steelers, in my opinion (even as a saints fan ).

btw, if the saints would have had any consistent offensive production, they would have won super bowls. but, shoulda, coulda, woulda...

Default Here are some

KC Chiefs 1970's-Willie Lanier, Bobby Bell, and Jim Lynch
Steelers 1970's-Jack Lambert, Andy Russell, Jack Ham
New Orleans-1990's- Pat Swilling, Ricky Jackson, Sam Mills, Vaughn Johnson
1985 Bears-Wilbur Marshall, Mike Singletary, Otis Wilson
Giants 80's-LT, Harry Carson, Garry Reasons, Carl Banks
Cowboys 1977-DD Lewis, Breunig, and Hollywood
Cowboys 1971-LeRoy Jordan, Chuck Howley, Dave Edwards
Baltimore 2000-Peter Boulware, Ray Ray, Jamie Sharper
1980 Raiders-Ted Hendricks, Bob Nelson, Rod Martin, and Matt Millen

These are just some of my all-time favorites
Any team that has LT on it has to be #1 in my book! But the Chiefs set the tone with new wave backers in the early 70's, the Steelers had the mite and muscle of Lambert and company. The Saints may be the most dominate of their time and how do you discount Singletary, Wilbur and "My Man" Otis.

Default get serious guys

the linebacking core for my moneywas the chiefs of the mid to late 60;s sure they only played 12 game seasons but the players on each teamplayed rougher and no penalties were hardly called for forearming to the troat or hands to the face and ect.....

I also saw where the NFL Network ranked the Saints as the #1 linebacking corp of all time which shocked me. I would go with the Steelers of the 70's with 4 Super Bowls in 6 years plus two of those LB's Lambert and Ham made it to the HOF. The Giants of the 80's and the Chiefs with Bell, Lanier, and Lynch are a close second. Both of these LB corps also have two LB's in the HOF. By the way styx the Chiefs played 14 games in those days.

Default Come on guys!

It's gotta be the Giants! The reason why I did not pick the Steelers or Bears number one was because they played behind some dominating defensive lines. That's not to take anything away from them but you take away those front fours and perhaps they don't rate as high. The 85 Bear defensive strength started with that front four. Same with the Steelers. The G-men's strength was in the LB's.

Ham and Lambert both on the 75th Anniversary All-Time Team!

LT the only Giant!

4-3 would be Willie Lanier, Bobby Bell, and Jim Lynch of the 69 Chiefs followed by the Steelers Lambert, Russell and Ham

3-4 Giants LT, Carson, Reasons and Banks. Followed by the Saints crew.
