Wink I know...

...what we can do. How about a letter from MFCA, an organization that represents almost 200 coaches, politely asking Excalibur what are the plans for their products and that there are a couple hundred (perhaps a stretch but work with me) MF enthusiast eagerly awaiting to hear from them. The idea of an organized market share looking to do business should get anyone to swing into action or at least become more responsive to our inquiries. If MFCA can't do it for whatever reason then how about letters/emails from all the league's around the country. I'm tellin' ya...organization and a united front is the key.

Default Who needs em?

I DO!
Always looking for something new, and appreciate their efforts.
Here I go with my rant!
Boilable Bases...who needs em...I do. Miggle Bullet Bases...who needs em...I do. We always talk about what is positive, and what is considered negative on this board. I think that every one should be able to express his/her view or opinion. The thing that erks me the most about coaches on this board is that they like to ban what they can't compete with, or whine and cry...putting pressure on companies (Miggle) until they stop producing products that some coaches like, but the majority of coaches dislike. I find it very irritating that all if the products that have been discontinued sell for astronimical amounts on ebay. Why is that? So many coaches who post on this board have quotes from famous people attached to their posts as a signature. Maybe we should adhere, and apply those quotes to our own actions. We have to grow up and let go of that mentality of "It's my ball, if you don't do it my way, I will take my ball and go home". I don't think this hobby has or will have a place in the main stream until we stop being so critical of different sytles of play, weights, your way -V- my way, and manufacturers...expecially new manufacturers.

Default The more the merrier!

I respect that opinion but my take is that the more manufacturers the better. And if we address those manufacturers in a unified manner then everyone can win. If Excalibur's products don't excite us then let's tell them why in a UNIFIED manner. Let's approach it as a partnership as oppose to us against them. We can easily say "Listen Mr. Miggle, Excalibur, ACME Inc, etc., we like these particular products of yours but product A can be improved. Here are some recommendations from our membership...." Give them a chance. Heck, Miggle is responding to our dislike of the Proline bases made in China. I think that had something to do with them moving the equipment back to the U.S.A. They are working with several coaches in trying to get the formula for those bases just right. Excalibur probably have no idea that tweaking a base is a big part of this hobby and that's why they should improve them.

Or...the association can try it's hand at manufacturing these products.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Default Do it yourself

Again its just and opinion, but for as long as the fab five has been out there, I would have expected something more than just subtle variations of what was there already. And why shouldn't we the consumer, expect more?

I think we can and should.

For years now coaches in this hobby have been creating their own figures or customizing commercial figures, and the results have been awesome. I just got some ITZ figures this weekend from way back, detailed, balanced, performers, AWESOME. I woud be willing to bet that if you took ANY of their figures painted and compaired it to an excalibur figure the average football fan would favor the ITZ firure hands down. And they have been around for years. ITZ, George Diamnond, Reginald Rutledge, Dwayne Jennings,(and now Chris Fields) and others all have produced HIGH QUALITY products that have stood the test of time. I believe they were successful because they ARE COACHES and artist, creators who actually play the game.

I believe that in the future the MFCA could procuce a Miniature football game that will have higher quality, bigger and more realistic than what has been mass produced to this point.
