Cool Something out of nothing...

first pic: Darrell diagrams the play.
second pic: Darrell hit's a screen pass to #24 marion Barber, but D.C.s defense appears to have the play shut down.
third pic: Appearences can be deceiving. The end result is a Marion Barber touchdown.

Smile San Diego vs. Dallas

On March 10, 2007 an old rivalry reared it's ugly head. OldSchool and D-Legend on the board just like old times.

first pic: After a viscious sack the Chargers find themselves on their own 14 yardline.
second pic: Ladainian Tomlinson almost breaks a big one if not for the saving tackle by Roy Williams.
Third pic: With the divider up OldSchool ponders being 81 yards away from the endzone.

Cool 81 yards, The longview and the shortview.

first pic: OldSchool wondering whether Roy Williams can make that same touchdown saving tackle again.
second pic: Roy obviously didn't because this is the longview of Ladainian standing 81 yards away in the endzone.
third pic: The shortview of Ladainian after his 81 yard jaunt.
Fourth pic: The Chargers take over on defense.

Thumbs up No rest for the weary...

Even though the Chargers finished the evening unscathed after a long night of battling. Coach OldSchool decides to put them though an unexpected mini-camp. Here in MY dungeon... MY teams have to be ready to workout, even after all the games have been played. If they can't get with the program, they need to go play for somebody else.

Special thanks to coach Tony who made my 5-man blocking sled, and my tackling-dummy drill pit.

Hey Lynn,

I hope these pictures give guys a glimpse of what it's like to play the divider style of football. Rarely do our plays end up in a rugby scrum. Because if you commit too many of your defenders to a stack style defense... You will get burned. I repeat... You WILL get BURNED!!!

Another thing... unless you know your opponent's tendencies extremely well (IE, you can tell when he's running); play your safeties at passing depths and mix in some cover-2 zone. Continuously cheating your safeties up to play the run will get you burned in our league. The main reason is because most of our coaches are very competent passers. They will wait until their receivers are past your safeties before turning off the board even if it puts their receivers 40+ yards down field.

The flipside is... coaches will press you if they don't think you can pass all that well. The safeties will play close to help squash your running game and the short passing game, until you show that you can throw a consistant deep ball.

All in all it's a fun style of play... no better or worse than any other style.

Peace,

Don

Great stuff, Don. Good to see DC playing and great to see D-Legend back on the scene.

Default Great action Don!!!

I hope all the coaches can see how much fun the divider can be. I'm glad you taking care of Tony. I met him at last year's Brawl. Man does that guy love them Boys! I see he got all those custom figures he just had to have too. I'm glad he's still playing and active, I haven't heard from him. Tell him the NATIONAL one asked about him.

Darrell is back? Well that is great news. I hope he will be at the Brawl. I didn't get a chance to take a picture with the belt, ask D.C. if I can borrow it just for a minute to take a picture.
