Ok, here is another real rookie question,.....with the felt balls, what do you do with a new ball? What is the communities general rules, cutting a slot in the ball, using moisture on the ball, ...whats the do's and don'ts?

The balls already have a slit cut in the middle so you will not need to do so. As I mentioned earlier the balls are inexpensive so order a set and you decide which one or ones you prefer.

They already have them? I have the white felt ones and can't find any slots? If possible can someone explain where on these little things they are?

all pre-cut ball have a slot on them,but you have to "break" the edge sometimes to find it's starting point.

Well, looking at the ball, is this slot on the narrow side that goes the length of the ball, or on one of the ends? Sorry!
