Default THIS IS GOOD FOR HISTORIC PURPOSES.

COACHES,

This is a great thread regarding who was the first. Your right, coaches may say i did this first and for historic purposes lets get out the proof. IT'S ALL IN FUN AND FACTS. NO EGO'S ALLOWED ON THIS THREAD !!!

Vince did tell me a few years ago on the phone he made the first custom boards. It may be hard to did up some backing facts but that will make this fun. What's nice is we will see what year things actually came about. This will show us how far we have come.

WHOEVER WAS THE FIRST TO CREATE SOMETHING IN MINIATURE FOOTBALL IS A BIG DEAL BECAUSE. NO ONE ELSE CAN EVER BE THE FIRST IN THAT CATEGORY. NOW PROVE IT !!!

Default Klingebils developed...

the first 8 prong directional dials.

The regular ones from the 70's era were 4 pronged dials which fit into the classic Gotham and Munroe arrow shells.

Those 70's era bases are still out there. I use them for multiple reasons but the Klingbeils developed the new generation dials called ITZ dials.

The first person that I know of that added a spring to the TTQB was a fellow named Jim Jones who did that back around 1970. I met him in '74 and he was the one who showed me how to make them. But, as I recall, he got the idea from an old spring kicker that I believe was very early Tudor. I think they made them in the late 50's or early 60's.

Here is the article on the big board. It is either 1979 or 1980 as Matt is 16 in the photo. This ?might? be the first big custom field, but there is plenty of room to add the West coast history, McGhee and others. Good stuff. I wonder where that scoreboard is?

Is that before he started the cult?

Well, now that you mention it, he always had pitchers of Kool-Aid in the fridge.

I'd like to know who came out with the first fantasy teams. I remember reading about GB Glenn's unreal league back in 2003, which inspired me to make my teams.

I think the first 'true' fantasy team to be mass produced is the London Union Jacks by Miggle in late 2007. They also made the Irish Babies, but those are basically Notre Dame. Notre Dame wouldn't agree to licensing, hence the name Irish Babies.
