If the rest of you only knew...... How many times have you ever looked at a piece of furniture and admired the nice stain of the wood or the flow of it's design and said "Wow, what a nice piece of furniture"? Now, how many times did you say,"Wow, the glue holding that piece of furniture together is doing a great job"?

Well, the MFCA is that piece of furniture and Matt is that glue. Unrecognized by most, and invisible to all, Matt has done what all the rest of us didn't want to do, the tedious groundwork of putting 2 conventions together, keeping track of all the mundane information and paperwork that goes into keeping the MFCA going, and not to mention putting together the only MF magazine ever assembled, the Tweak.

I'm sure many out there will be saying, "Hey, it's only one guy. Surely the MFCA will carry on." Well, let me go on record as saying that unless someone is willing to step up and assume the many roles that Matt has been filling, that the MFCA will flounder in the water like a boat without any paddles.

Personally, I don't know how he has managed to do it for the last few years. But I am eternally gratefull that he did.

I am going to take on the role of being the new Tweak editor. I can only hope that I can do nearly as great a job that Matt has. It won't be easy and I am going to need all the help I can get.

I hope that others out there will contact Lynn and ask what they can do to help with some of the other aspects of running this organization. There's 240+ guys out there, it's about time some of you get off your duffs and help out. I'll have my hands full with the magazine.

Matt, if you're reading this, I'll forever cherish the friendship we've been able to share the last couple of years. It's meant alot to me. Please call when you get settled in your life. I wish you all the best.

Default What Al Said

I totally agree. Matt has contibuted more than any off you will ever know. It will be hard to fill the void that he will leave.

But we will continue. Al will do a good job with the Tweak. But we need others to step up and take on some of the responsiblities of the day to day operations of the MFCA.

So, please, if there is anything you feel like you can do to help with the MFCA. Please contact Lynn, myself or any of the other Board of Directors.

Thanks

Default Matt my friend

You have been in my prayers daily from the day you came up to play ball. All offers are still good. You know how to get ahold of me so if you need anything my friend just call. You will stay in my prayers. Lean on the Lord during these trying times. He can do anything. Hang in there. Timinator

I have been gone all weekend and knew about Matt's decision just before we left. This is my first opportunity to respond.

Matt is first and foremost a great friend! He is, as Al so clearly stated, the glue that has held this association together. He is in a tough place in his life and all though I do not pray, I hope that those of you who do will keep him in your prayers. I think about him often and having been in his situation know what he is going through. He is making the best choice for himself right now and I support this completely and without question. I also know that there will be a day when he returns and when he does it will be in a stronger and better position.

The MFCA will forge on but Matt's skills will be dearly missed. It absolutely will be a hole that needs to be filled by someone and the Board will be looking for people with similar skills that Matt possessed, to fill in.

Matt knows how I feel so I won't make this any longer...Matt, get through it, take the time you need and we will continue to visit. You always have a listening ear from me!

Default Matt

I just read this today, and even though i have no idea what your going through in your life right now, i do know that concentrating on yourself is the right thing. I sincerely hope that you look to God to help you through these difficult times. The hobby and the MFCA will be here, if you choose to return. Stay strong, and God Bless you.

Default Matt....

I know things are tough now, trust me I know. Over the last year and a half I have personally lost over $2.5 million dollars in Real Estate, My own Mortgage Co that had 34 loan officers, my credit and nearly $220,000 dollars trying to save it all. Believe it or not the sun will rise tomorrow. This is the only thing that keeps me going, I am trying to rebound now as I opened escrow on a sports bar last week (it's not done till it's done) so things will come around for you whatever it is you are dealing with.

Keep your head up and keep a clear mind, you my friend will endure, the strong ones always do. We will just say you are on vacation, but please remember one thing.....THE SUN WILL RISE TOMORROW
