You can blame Perry Burke of Las Vegas for my nickname. He hung it on me back in 2001 at the LAEFL championship weekend, and it stuck. Oh well...

Mpls is short for Minneapolis (the metro area where I live) and Tom is my name. I did get a kick out of a person at a tournament who said, "hey, it's mipples tom". The avatar is of Mark "The Bird" Fidrych of the Detroit Tigers who used to talk to the baseball and smooth the mound out between innings...a true character.

Raiderman used to call me "Marino" because he thought I looked like Dan Marino.

Fydrich was a special time back in Detroit,...which at the time was one of the only reasons why ABC showed the Tigers on Monday Night Baseball instead of the Yankees, Red Sox, Orioles and Dodgers as it seemed they always did. I found it almost as fun as the 68, and 84 championships,....well, not that much!?

In one end zone on the bleacher seats, a group of the best, most rowdy fans in the AFL became known as “The Wolfpack” for their loud and boisterous cheering. Who said it first is unknown but from the simple words…”That bunch sounds like a pack of howling wolves” the Wolfpack tradition was born and lives on today. Weirdwolf is dedicated to keeping that tradition alive as I lead my sections in Arrowhead to get LOUDER!!

i see all these nicknames everyday and wondered what the heck does that mean. " detroit murd" I would have never piece that together if you did not tell u.s. it's fun to find out the little tidbit's behind the coach and his name. I am glad i posted this quesh again.

Hey wolf, after all of these years i never knew your name came about because of that. I bet alot others never knew either.

Well, forty six years ago you see mom and dad...well lets just say...and nine months later they labeled me with this name.

My nickname in HS was Shayn DaPain. I actually got the name as a wrestler when I broke a kids coller bone on back-heal trip/suplex. It didn't really stick though until the following year in Football. At practice my sophmore year I hit a friend of mine, Robbie sent him to the hospital. I stayed overnight at the hospital reading sports magazines with him that night. At school the next day everybody was calling me 'the pain'. It was better than my childhood nicknames.

You referred to the Monday Night game against the Yankees, I watched that game on TV and it was honestly the most electric I've ever seen a baseball crowd.

I remember watching on TV as the lineups were being introduced and here's Fidrych in a lawn chair saying, "Mark Fidrych" then he blows a bubble and cracks it, "Pitcher" (blows another bubble) and "Northboro Mass"

I remember thinking who is this guy...then when infielders made a good play, he'd be flopping all around congratulating them (kind of like Wolf when he makes a TD). He was a hoot.
