Default Picture of easy player holder for painting

Guys, I was painting my first figures getting ready to go to the Mid America Melee and noted that I was having problems with touching the wet paint while holding the figure, and also that I was going to need some way to hold he figure while spraying with clear coat.

I came up with the following. Find a #6 round headed screw, 3/4" long. File one side flat to the shank of the screw. Then turn the screw and file a parallel flat on the other side. You now have a screw with a flat on 2 sides and a lip on the front and back. I used a 3" x 3" piece of white pine to mount the screw on. Your choice may vary. Use the rectangular opening in the base as shown in the picture of one of my throw back 1940 Raymond All Stars and you have an almost instant, but certainly cheap player holder. Hope it works for you. Doug

I will answer som additional questions that have come up about the rules.

1. No extra/empty bases on your squad.
2. No duplicate players. example only 1- #31 on your team.
3. No painted bases.

More rules clarification.
#1.When STICK or ATTAC passing you CANNOT adjust after the catch is made.

#2. When throwing TO THE FIGURE you CAN adjust after a completed pass if the reciever is unengaged.

Footballs allowed:

Balls are part of weigh in/check in and must pass inspection.

Miggle= Proline,Standard & Foam rubber
Buzzball = Felt
EFDW= Pill ball
Excalibur= Brown ball
Handmade= If they pass inspection

You may treat the ball as you like providing it doesnt become damaging to the field or players etc.
