Default why dont we task

coaches,

why dont we task ourselves, EVERYONE, to go to several sports bars in your area during a college gameday saturday. Also on a nfl sunday. I was never into marketing the game towards kids. The rather play playstation.
thats a big fact, just take a loof around. All of these kids are playing madden. But the older people our age, would be more into what we are doing than maden. Men are always looking for the extra hobby. If we all passed out cards made by wolf with the girls washing football fields, we can recruit. Sex sells and get your interest. Once interested looking at the girl, suddenly one says to himself, WHAT WEBSITE IS THIS. person goes home and types in website. From there it is up to the mfca to have a package on line that he can brouse through and be amazed. for one, there has to be a game professionally produced to stream continuously online where the casual browser in blown away. what style, that has to be voted on. Once a person see this, he will say, 'i played this as a kid". he will see how much things have change and he will be more than willing to return to the game.

wolf is right, what must happen is a package deal created by many.
1)geno kicker and ttqb.
2)pass placemant sticks
3)board ( just the mfca logo in middle of field, MFCA SPORTS IN THE ENDZONES)
4)footballs
5)already tweaked bases.
6)set of untweaked bases)
7)1 pair of pliers (starter)
8)decal request form, no mention of pro or college teams. (figure that out later)
9)UNPAINTED FIGURES
10)INSTRUCTION MANUAL)

**IF EACH COACH DONATED FIGURES, CAN THE BE REPACKAGED AND SEALED.

wolf can handle the box these will go into and the logo on the box.

maybe its time for the mfca to make a package for itself to sell to the general public at an event. Then elesewhere. But at what price.
in all honesty, If someone pull a board out of a box, a roller board looks the most professional. They sell music instrument cases that look exactly like that in sam ash.

THE REASON THE HOBBY HAS NOT GROWN ALOT MORE IS BECAUSE OF THE MIRROR THATS LOOKING AT US. tHE DVD WOLF GAVE US AT THE CONVENT CAN BE THE ONE THAT GOES INTO THE BOX

This is a problem because there are more "Takers" than "Givers" in the hobby. Vendors and others that give out samples and such, know what I'm talking about. It costs money to manufacture everything, and I know there are quite a few that are irritated from giving away items all the time, and then there are those who want everything for nothing.

wolf can handle the box these will go into and the logo on the box.

Not sure anyone should volunteer Wolf's services for anything else than what he does for the MFCA or the hobby already. He's tried stepping down 2 times now, let's not make it "3 times a Charm".

maybe its time for the mfca to make a package for itself to sell to the general public at an event.

Need to be careful on this. The MFCA is a Non-Profit Organization. We start selling to make a profit, means a lot more in debt Accounting and Tax filing. Not to mention the risks of Audits.

Default Hmm...

I think that both Reg and RD has some good points. Marketing this game to in venues where there are children actually help recruit parents. I know for me when my son shows interest in something it creates a genuine interest for myself. I was 19 years old when I found this game again in the local Toys' R Us and because of the Texas Shootout and its promotions I was hooked. However, for the most part RD is right. Most kids get involved with the hobby through their parents. The Joe Greco's, Artlax, Jerry Fulton's, The Chalmers boys and Mike Turner's kids are the future stars of this hobby. They all play competitively and are very good. Jim Davis also has a daughter I hear who is also a great player. Promoting a tournament for the youth with the youth playing as the main event would seem like more of a draw than us older guys playing and the youngsters watching us.

This hobby has a lot of young blood and its in large part of due to the father's of this hobby introducing it to them.

I am a huge advocate of playing down at the campus, I am a huge advocate of setting up a table at a toy convention, a coaches convention, a hobby convention or any other type of convention. I've done a countless number of these with you Reg and they have been great. I know first hand how these type of events can promote growth.

This topic when I originally wrote it was never meant to stir up all of this. It was meant to express the excitement and fun that was had when fellowshipping with the efl and non efl brotheren at the tailgating event. I appreciated the experience. If the tournament moves it moves. I know that Vegas has Mike Turner, Celo, Eric and Dave, Jeff Ebby and Shabby J all of whom will make sure that this tournament goes off well.

I have discuused the MFCA convention with my wife and she has no interest in coming to the MFCA convention wether its in Canton or somewhere else. She has no interest in EF, though she allows me to enjoy the hobby, moving the CBSMF to another location for me would mean having to choose between which convention or event I want to be a part of. I think I can speak for many when I say that if the MFCA convention were to stay in Canton and the CBSMF were to move elsewhere, and was held around the same time it would force coaches to choose between one event or the other thus causing a split in the masses. If we could merge these 2 events into one it would be great, how to do this is the big question, as some coaches have no interest in participating in the CBSMF. I very much look forward to the MFCA convention in Canton every year and would continue supporting it if it were to stay in Canton.

Only my opinion
RD

I agree withyou RD...

I have been to all 3 events and they have evolved each year. Although I do not play CBSMF this season, I know it was gut-wrenching EF action that all experienced.

I do not bring my BABE to this event because it is "Man weekend" where there is little to do except FOOTBALL, and that is the draw for me.

Everyone else that wanted something more was left standing on the sidelines because there were no boards left to play on....not anyone's fault just an observation.

IMHO moving this to Vegas would change the trip to entertainment of a different kind. MF would take a back seat to Vegas.

Now if we had more tables with fields on them,. more games would have been played....

There were 6 fields setting unused. 5-620's and 1-2x4. There were also extra tables that could of been gotten. No one ever came to me about needing a field or table.

If Vegas has a possible 32 team bracket and the MFCA convention is on the same weekend in Vegas??? MFCA would add lots of new members... Its that simple. They both can co-exist thats not the problem.

This should be a done deal... WHY????

*The West is deserving

*The West has more coaches than 2 other major conferences combined

*I can name 6 coaches out here who will bring there kids that already have interest in the hobby that will probably be consumed with awesomeness and magnitude this sport gets too outside there homes with dad

*Cheaper to fly to Vegas than any other state

*Group rates on Hotels are the norm out there

*VEGAS BABY!!!

*Go to the local Sports book at any Casino a place a $100 bet on who you think will win the Superbowl for the upcoming year at 16-1 odds like i did on the Saints last year "CHA-CHING!"

*Redundant I know... GAMBLING

*Follow me to my companies club out there (just u single EFers

*I know Perry, Marty, Eric or Mike can host a sweet BBQ or something to replace one tailgate party....

*Vegas can offer so much more but i gotta go on with my day!!!!

I agree with all of the points made.

I suggested Vegas to the Board of Directors before the convention. Over the weekend many of my travel mates hotly contested this, suggesting that they would not go out to Vegas just to play EFL and would not attend.

YOU ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY.....

There's A LOT of other things to see and do....

I would play, heck I may even bring my wife for some adult time away from the kids!

Put frankly the West Coast has not had a Miggle convention and I think this is a perfect opportunity for the MFCA to recognize what these guys have done for the hobby for many years. A good location for widwest and southwest. I think it would be a great event.

Yep, let's make this happen.

I was there the whole time? There was always boards open. Many people were tied up reffing games to be honest. I found time to play three tournament games, help ref two, marshall during a time span, play five MFCA games, and scrimmage both Joel P and John Martin. Each time there were fields available and tables everywhere. There was no need to come to you Wolf.

Default Hey Guys

Thanks to all who took the time & their hard earned money to be a part of the MFCA Convention/CBSMF Championship & the 2010 H.O.F. Festivities, it was surely a pleasure to have you visit Canton's Greatest Weekend, hopefully everyone enjoyed their time while here. I tried to assist all in need of help, and I sincerely enjoyed my role in hopefully making your time here better. Been reading all of the input regarding this topic, pretty interesting to say the least. Personally I was hanging out in Canton for the H.O.F. events/tailgating/game/after party before I was introduced (for the second time) to EF & the MFCA and I'll still be here whether the conventions/tournaments are here or elsewhere. Sure I'm biased, growing up here and currently living 30 minutes away, the H.O.F. is part of your childhood, etc.... I'll just say that for anyone around my age to be still playing this (kids) game has to really love football, and if that's the case then where else would you rather be than where football was born and where the NFL kick-off game is played to begin the new season (as well as the kick-off for many of the EF leagues). All of the areas/cities mentioned have much to offer, but you need to have the time to participate in them. For example the H.O.F. Festivities are 10 days of many different events, most do not partake in any of them. So you have to make time whether a big or small city to be a part of what each city has to offer. Celo is right, hell anyone can put on a tailgate party (we do it at every Browns home game). I won't get into the deliberation of where to hold the CBSMF tourney or the MFCA convention respectively, but to only say that they should remain as one. Division is no way to assimilate, join forces to teach the unknowing rather than divide and deteriorate from within. Good luck to all of those in the decision making process.
thx again,
jwm
