Default Rr...

...what's MOST important to you: Participation or Rules? If it's Participation - like I hope - then lemme run something past you as far as Rules are concerned. I have created a hybrid of Rules that incorporates 2-3 proprietary Rules from several different sets and IMHO blends and melds them PERFECTLY!!! These are the same Rules I'm using in my ILLINI Season and unless I've misunderstood their responses, I think so far so good. This way, if WE were to expand this thing NATIONALLY I think you and me could make a good thing BETTER!

As you know, this is something I've been dreaming about for years. Ever since AJ's 2nd College Tourney in Columbus. There are 300+ College teams out there to choose from and only about 100 MF Coaches, so why wouldn't we try to go National with College??? We could all play our "local" teams once, scheduling a Season as Athletic Directors do, and then meet in Arlington EVERY year - or Virginia - for the BCS Games in your stadiums.

OR...if every "Conference" can afford at least one stadium each, they can have their Conference Title games there and then the BCS won't be that much of a struggle.

So, if we're gonna do this...I'm rolling with...the cats that "Brought down the BIG house!" The crew that left them "Maized and Confused!" The one and only...APPALACHIAN STATE!!!

Just Kidding! ILLINI all the way.

Default Andre, let's not limit ourselves

You know Andre,

When this started, I only spoke of this because some of the guys in the DFW asked me to expand the season into having a college season. They were adament about playing with the Shootout ruleset. Then when Kevin came for the Road Warrior weekend, he inquired about it as well because he felt he could play in this system every week.

Well you know the enthusiasm is very high in Texas when it comes to miniature football. And I thought I would just probe, not really expecting a lot from coaches across the country about coming here to play in this style of play or even in a college league.

So when guys talk about wanting certain teams, I think that's wonderful! I have no idea if this would ever happen though. My plate is always full, things are always happening, and hopefully by the summer I will be preparing to enter another important phase in my life.

But I would like to be a part of a league. One thing that I know we like to do here in Texas is bring in preople, not teams. It makes no difference to me if there are 8 Tennessee VOLS teams, as long as each coach has white and dark. When you tell people to lock in to a team, you began to place limits. This is suppose to be fun. I know John Sullivan down in Baton Rouge played for LSU but because someone else got LSU, he can not have them either?

Or Michigan Joe loves the Wolverine. So does Brian Wittkop (Wolverine) and he wants to play too. You're telling one of them, they can not have Michigan? There's several guys who want Texas, Florida, and USC but because one have them, the other person is not able to have them.

Yeah, I like to do things a little unconventional. For me, it's about having fun. If a person stayed in DC but loved the Trojans, he would be in the ACC. For what I would like, it is not about teams but about the individual coach. Guys love to come to Texas and have fun. We don't even pledge to be real football. We just say we like to show people a good time under this style of play when they come to Texas. Whether they have Grambling State 1 and 2 or Alabama 9 times, as long as each coach has white and dark, it really does not make a difference to me.

So guys need not lock their teams. There should be no restriction in what we are trying to do. We're just wanting guys to come here, have a good time, and understand the style of play of the Shootout rule system. Then we will go from there.

Reginald

Default College League in DFW

Reggie,
Put me down for the Baylor Bears. If my step-son can't get on the field yet in real life then I will get him on the electric field. Then I can guarantee he will be the leading receiver. Boo Yaa......
