One of the great things about Diversity of Bases is ...
that it makes the other team think about what and who to stop. "Do I double Team this player" or "Do I play him with a cover corner or shutdown corner?" The boat base offers unique challenges to a defense because now, you know this is a real player that I've got to deal with. You tend to study more film or look at his numbers more because his ability to get open causes you to fret more.
I love when the other team has things that I don't have. When everyone has the same thing, it becomes a bit boring to me. I already know who you got and how it will perform. But if you don't play against a Tightend on an arrow base every week, it offers different challenges (kinda how it is in the NFL and NCAA). As RPD stated, we only allow two boats out on the field at once. If designed properly, the athlete is beautiful. Plus, the boar base gives the player more stability when running. Reg |
