Default Bluesman is no slouch

I have scrimmaged Bluesman (with a boiled team) and he has held his own. I could not push his team down the field with boild bases. Hearig that the GREAT COACH PEATROS offensively bullrushed Bluesman's entire defense says alot. What makes it totally amazing is that PEATROS did it with UNBOILED BASES...I couldn't do it with the INFAMOUS BOILED BASES. In my opinion, this shows that Peatros has superior EF/MF skills. Some may think that out here in Los Angeles...we can't play all that well, and that Coach Peatros has terrible competition. They may be correct...although I think it speaks to Peatros being an elite coach. I have seen Peatros play, I would like to see and hear some feedback on some of the other greats out there. I've heard so much about the Great Don Smith, Mike Pratt, and others, but have never seen them play (would really enjoy watching and learning from these masters of EF/MF). I have witnessed and learned the magic of Coach Peatros with my own eyes and hands. I know that it has been said that we are not good out here on the Left Coast due to Peatros kicking our heads in...that may be true...although I recall him beating a coach from Vegas 80-17 (no disrespect intended) who participates in the Los Angeles League with the rest of the subpar coaches in L.A. This particular coach from Vegas (Mike Turner) travels to tournaments all across the country, and he goes to The Miggle Convention every year...he is a regular on the EF/MF circuit. When the results are posted from the tourneys he enters...he never places less than 3rd place. I know for a fact that Turner placed second in two of the Miggle Convention Green Room Rumbles. Since it has been said that Los Angeles has sub par coaches...I would like to know why does one of L.A.'s coaches always take 2nd or 3rd place when he participates in tourneys across the country? If Peatros beat Mike so conVINCEingly (80-17) and Mike has not been able to make it back to the LAEFL Championship game since (The Show II 2002) , then I'm confused. It doesn't make sense to me...if a L.A. coach can hold his own against the rest of the country in tourneys and Green Room Rumbles...playing by their rules, but he has not won a title in his own league, and can not compete with coach Peatros...I don't see where the doubt lies. I guess you just got to see it for yourself. I see it, and have for years...It should be crystal clear.

Waiting for Vince to play a midwest or east coast tournament is kind of like waiting for the Guns and Roses follow up album "Chinese Democracy". Lots of anticipation but it never happens. I think Axl kind of likes it that way too.

I remember the game you speak of (80-17) a few years ago. We have heard so much about the magic of Vince. So here is my questions

1 - has Vince either showed any of you some tweaking tips of his or gave up some of his "lesser talent" to your worst coach so he can be competitive????

2 - Are you guys doing everything in your powers to help US ALL GET TO SEE IT UP CLOSE the "Vince Way" this summer and beyond???????


I have been online with the hobby for 10yrs now (wow it's been that long) and have not had the pleasure of being "knocked down" by one of his understudies much less the man himself. I hope that I can get on the field with Vince at some point. I do okay when tweaking, but I am always open to new ways of getting better.......

ANSWER: Yes, As Bluesman, and I have mentioned many times before...Vince has shared some of his secrets. Vince has also tweaked bases, and built teams for lesser talent in Los Angeles. FYI...Vince is the first man to ever take 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th place in a league that he didn't even play in (lol).

ANSWER: Yes, Mike Turner, Earl McMillan, and I have been doing everything in our power to help you all see it up close by traveling across the country participating tournaments/conventions. I have traveled to D.C. during tournament time, and couldn't get a game in, been to several conventions and games were minimal...Ken Allen is the only person who would run plays with me @ t Miggle Convention in Pittsburgh, and Anthony of MPFL ran plays with me in Chi-town. To answer you question about "this summer & beyond"...we're having a College Tourney the week after Labor Day...so far no interest from anyone outside of L.A. except for Reg, & R.J. both from TX. We have eliminate BOILED BASES, No entry fee, & raised the weight to 4.0, for the tourney (Eric & Dave's Open Run), but still no interest...at this point, I'm done trying to extend an olive branch to unite EF/MFand bending to accomodate others who play outside of the Shootout Rules Set. I will continue to promote the hobby, The Tweak, and this board.

Answer: I can't speak for Vince, but you have had several opportinities to get on the board with me (one of his understudies). I can't say that I would knock you down, or push your team down the field, because that is not my thing in scrimmaging. If I find that I can push you around, I will not run the ball unless I use a single back, and he is running through a specific hole. I like competition in scrimmaging as well as league play. Personally, I would show any coach who is interested in learnig, how to get his men up to strength, without giving away my coaching stragities and ways to beat me. This hobby would be much better if strength was not the main issue. If we all had about equal strength, then some real coaching could take place.

now as for your tournament .... I must have missed it because the only college thing was being done by Reggie (Shootout rules). If you are having something different, like I said - I missed it.

Yes, you are correct in the "strength issue" because it is so important to so many. Me personally, I can tweak up something that is really strong or really fast so my teams can play anywhere. There is also the "dummy factor" during game play that also should be looked at, but it most likely will not.
the "Dummy factor" is the players themselves - Dummies. If we can get away from the [allowing dumb o-linemen to run free down field where they cannot be pivoted] and play in a way that makes defense play honest that would be great.

Also, since I am on a rant, how about putting the cover corner [okay I have said this before, but it's worth it ] on a rookie base and then let's see if he can still "hold" the WR from getting open.

K-Lo,

for the past year, I have based my cover corners, and my son's covers on tweaked Speed Diamond bases, ................and I have not looked back.... as a matter of fact my entire cardinal team from last season's pro league was all speed diamond bases, not a single ttc base, and it took some getting used to, but by the end of the season I had quite a team....

I lost the nfc championship game becasue raiderman cheated me, .................. not really, I made a stupid mistake, and cost me the game, but they were at the doorstep of our superbowl.....

Answer: I do remember Rasta and I hanging with you, and having a great time, & thanx 4 purchasing the shirt. I definitely do not remember getting on the board with you...remember, in your previous post on this thread...you're the one who said that you would love to play Vince or one of his understudies. If we did or didn't scrimmage, I'm sure it was all in good fun...you know how it is around 5PM @ the convention when that magical hour comes around...who can remember anything (lol).

As far as Eric & Dave's Open Run College Tourney goes, the official post has not come out yet. Although it has been mentioned several times on threads that you have replied on...that is why I thought you knew about it. When I posted pix of my Blk College All-Stars, I thought you replied...my bad, I apologize for assuming (u know what they say about - makin an azz of u & me) (lol).

Strength: I think that most who tweak their own stuff across the nation are about on the same level when tweaking for speed & strength. At least this is what I see in Los Angeles. My reasoning for saying what I said about Vince being such a great tweaker is because, all of the elite coaches in L.A. who do their own bases have about equal strength & speed, but Vince's bases are twice as strong and faster than ours. I have also played participated in league play with coaches from Detroit, & Chicago...they were able to hold their own against us mere mortals...eventhough we had boiled bases and they didn't...to me that says alot. I can not recall whether or not they were scheduled to play Vince, but I do know that they were amazed with what they saw him do. I'm not trying to ride the guys cape, just telling yall what I have witnessed. I don't have anything to gain from this...just callin it how I saw it.

you know what...since this wont go away...and everyone seems to be so adement about the vince thing ..one little detail seems to keep slipping into the cracks,
if everyone is so sure that vince is all smoke and mirrors...how come all you do is call him out but NO ONE WILL COME TO THE MANS DOOR AND FACE HIM ONE ON ONE and find out the real deal.
if you guys are so ^&%$ good why dont YOU bring your BEST game to HIM !!! why should he have to travel to you to whip your butts??
you ever think the reason he doesn't travel is because he KNOWS that you guys CANT hang with him?
you guys are so quick to judge a man you have NEVER SEEN. If some one had he balls to step up to the plate with vince i assure you he would oblidge you, welcome you into the area, and promply run you right off the board...

Vince is currently unable to post a reply here and I feel that until he is allowed to speak for himself that this thread is unfair to the parties concerned. I'm sorry if this ticks you all off but until someone takes my job, this is just the way I see it. I'm going to lock it down until Vince is back on the board and able to answer for himself.
