I heard he was coming to KC two days ago. We love old QB's and they need to fill the seats

Default End of an era!

Well I have been numbering my teams as I am getting ready for my 25th season in my solitaire league the CSL. Can anyone guess what three teams I have not numbered yet? Yes, you guessed it...Tampa, the Jets and Green Bay!

Thank God it is over...so we can all get back on with our lives!

I will have to say, that according to the poll...43% of you were right about Favre moving on!

Thumbs up

Here is a situation that has really become an absolute shame. I have come to respect Brett Favre throughout the years for his "All Out" style of play and iron man work ethic. The Packers, I had respected for it's long storied tradition in a small market & the only team to actually be owned by it's community. The Packers are truly iconic in the fact that I believe they are probably the only team that is still playing in the same arena that they were playing in their glory days of the 60's.
Well, after the going through all the back & forth. The he said she said.Or even take in a little You don't want me v we wanted you (no we really didn't) but you retired and we went in another direction. Brett's I don't want to play for them, release me, trade me to Minnesota or Chicago.Green Bay's we won't trade you there, stay retired, here's $20 mil to stay home, come back, everybody's available for trade,we'll trade you to Tampa,........ah....at Last Brett's a Jet!!!!
This whole crap & the parties involved make me completely sick!!!! I used to respect these teams and THE PLAYER. Now all I want is for basketball season to start because regardless for which to you follow, you'll be bombarded with Brett Favre & the Packers all year long. The networks are all ready looking into the games they can manipulate in the second half of the season to see how many games they can get the Jets on TV.The only reason they won't do it sooner is because that portion of the schedule is locked in.
Frankly, The Packers handling of this situation was out right gruesome!!! They were moving on without Favre when the Giants got into field goal range the third and final time in that OT loss The Pack suffered in OT last year. I don't understand why they didn't just hand him his pink slip at the end of the year locker clean out since they practically through him out anyway.
I am a fan of the teams in my area & have no vested interest in this except the fact I am A FOOTBALL FAN!!! having had to sit through the whole Montana v Young deal and The situations involving Rice, Craig, Brown, & Lott, this is a constant reminder of the most glaring reminder that above the sport, above, the fan,and above the cities involved, (and don't even get me started on The raiders v the City Of Oakland), this is first and foremost a BUSINESS!!! YOU AND I GO THROUGH THESE TYPES OF DEALINGS EVERYDAY. At the end of the day, the business will always do what's in the best interest of the business and they have no care or concern about what the employee feels it is entitled to because they know you will always come back to see their product. Supply and demand baby.At some point though, The owners & the players better learn that if you screw with the fans enough, steroids is not an option to save their game like it did for a nearly destroyed MLB not too long ago.Whew!!! I'm glad I got that off my chest. Let's hope for the sake of all of us they get the point real soon because I'm not really looking for to having to rely on the MLB to entertain me from July through October given the direction the A's & Giants are going in.I hope you guys are feeling this out there.

Default Favre...

is a selfish, childish, over-rated bum! It is shameful that the league put up with this crap for so long. He is a media creation who has thrown more int's than any QB in the history of the game--EVERYBODY GET OFF HIS NUT-SACK!

Most wins by a starting QB: 160

Most consecutive starts, quarterback: 253 (275 including playoffs)

Most consecutive 3,000-yard passing seasons: 16

Most pass completions: 5,377

Most seasons with 30-plus TD passes: 8

Most consecutive games with a TD pass, postseason: 18

Most NFL MVP awards: 3

and the already mentioned INT record!!!

A few other accomplishments

Default Yes Retire

I believe that Favre should have retired because of the legacy that he established in Green Bay. I think that players of his caliber should retire with the team that they shined with. Another example would be Emmitt Smith. In my opinion, he had no business playing with the Cardinals.

Default Decisiveness

Don’t get me wrong when I said Favre should have retired. I am saying that whenever he decided to retire, he should have done it as a Packer. Honestly speaking, Favre should have been more decisive about announcing his retirement in the first place. That’s how all of this mess got started. As far as I know, it’s wasn’t like the Packers pressured him to retire. Favre some how had forgotten the caliber of player he is. He is such an icon in the game that he and players of his status have to be extremely careful when they say anything remotely concerning retirement. Favre shouldn't have said anything until he was absolutely sure. If he had kept his mouth shut, he would still be a Packer.
