Hey Reg,
I know that it is typical for everyone to conform to the rules of the league hosting a convention. That said, shouldn't we vote on some of the rules prior to the season? I love the shootout rules, but there are some rules I don't dig....and that aren't popular out here. One biggie is the board on when you kick. I know you guys did it in your area because of the talent level out there...to give challenges to the players.....but I really don't think the rule would be popular nationwide. The only reason I ask is because the CBSMF is a nationwide league, so input from everywhere would be good to make it appeal to everyone. I don't know if you would put together a rules committee with league reps, or take a vote on issues....just a thought. I am glad you understand folks were frustrated not being able to follow the games and all. Believe me, I would love to have been there....just can't take off from work too easily and Canton sure isn't in driving distance for us folks on the left coast!! I typically only fly once a year for vacation....maybe twice. I have other hobbies too.....crazy as that is! How about organizing two large events? One out west, one out east. You guys can run one of the events and the PAC-10 can work with Independents and hopefully folks in the Midwest to arrange an event out here. Coaches could commit their teams to bowl games in either region....they just choose to accept/decline bowl bids. When it is all done, there would be a final coach's poll to resolve the champion. Each coach gets a poll to complete ranking the top 25 teams....Then we might be able to submit records and such to some sports or media representatives who can also submit poll sheets...and their votes would count for more since they would be neutral. What do you think? It would be controversial and crazy...just like real college football!! It would also be even more inclusive for the hobby... |

Rules Committee
Coach,
One of the great things about last weekend was that we were able to get in one place and play under the same rule system. We had a mini-discussion before we started to play. Most of the times, when you have tourneys, you spend a lot of time going over the rules just to get the right interpretation. For the CBSMF, we had some minor rule discrepancies but for the most part, the rules went well. As far as what the PAC 10 or Big 10 or SWC or SEC or ACC or Big East or Independnets want to bring to the table, those rule proposals would have to be submitted through the commissioner of your league. The CBSMF is gonna have a rules committee to enhance the rules. The discussions were very beneficial as one conference may have interpreted a rule one way and another one may have interpreted it another way. Discussion happened and the guys were so enthusiastic even though they may have lost favor on a rule. I remember one instance that Simmie Lassiter and I talked about a rule that was really bothering him. We discussed it and agreed that more clarification needs to be made on that for everyone. Another time, with Eric Thompson, he had some rules issues and he was more than willing to want to figure out ways to come to a clear-cut conclusion regarding the rule. Progress comes with challenges and this is no different. But we need those types of suggestions that you are giving. I like mostly everything you discussed other than the "mythical" national champion thing. I believe you need to settle the count on the field. As far as two different venues, that is what the Kick-off Classic in Motown was suppose to be about for 2010 along with next year's national championship venue. We definitely want to travel well to these two events but I know Vegas should have been in the mix this year. And yes Robert, if there was a way to bring the games to you, we would have. You deserved to watch the game as the intensity and intrigue of the season came to a close. I probably would have been mad too but I try to be fair about the situation. It would have been great to show this on a national scale. I am not sweatin' that type of passion out of people who wanted to watch the game. I think its great that they cared that much to be mad! Hopefully, next time that will not happen. Reg Last edited by Reginald Rutledge : 08-10-2009 at 11:50 PM. |

Well...if the kickoff is in Motown, where will the CBSMF Bowl games be held at next year?
I am excited we have the Open Run event coming in October out here....Eric and Dave really got something special going for L.A. I don't necessarily mean the championship will be mythical Reg.....It all depends on who goes to what Bowl.....it might be very likely that the big game at either venue would feature the consensus #1 and #2.....just like reality! However it works....more EF is all that matters....and more chances to enjoy good company. I don't know how often I will travel back East or to Texas for EF, but at least I know the game is everywhere. |

Thank you for the kind words. If you were worried about the status of the SEC, then ask us. To me, it sounded like you were kicking us out without discussion. Maybe I was reading more into it than was intended. In reality, maybe we will play Shootout Rules next season. Maybe we won't. I can't speak for everyone, but I felt like we had a great time this past season playing college teams. I am confident that we get together and play again in 2010 in some fashion. I was hoping to play some this fall/winter with pro teams, but I am not sure that it will work out. HC |

Drew, Ken and everyone else responding to Vince..........
........there is no need for it. BTW Bill Porche's boards are like surf boards when the switch is cut off the men still slide. Not the best out there. I seen a mega wattz board that was outstanding and Greg Hardmon's 308 ran superb in the game he played against Reg. So because things are made by hand and without a manufacturer there will be some changes from board to board. BTW someone just posted that he was the one who started the big boards 21 years ago, who is that??
Vince is bitter because Mike is the best in the country right now and he can't say nothing about it. G-Money played a helluva game but Mike's play-calling was second to none. Passing left handed for a TD has never been seen from my eyes and I witnessed it first hand Yesterday. Vince man you have ruined your chances of being in a fraternity of brothers in the CBSMF!! Why man why?? I just don't understand you bro!!!

I told myself not to get into this but I can't help it.
I see slander and libel by someone who was not at the event . I dont know you V.Petros but I think you are bad for the game. I have heard you where once very good but being a good player means very little to me after this weekend . I saw what is stated right under the MFCA title above . Bringing together the Miniture football Hobbyist, Coach and Player. Unity , Integrity and Fellowship. I see nothing like that from you . Why you are so bitter i don't know I wish you would back up and think about what you say . You may truly believe what you say about someone and their products but it does not need to be placed on this site . If someone calls you and ask your thoughts on a board then tell them but on a miniture site. That is just to personal and very unethical. I meet a man on the flight back from Canton yesterday and he was asking me about the hall and I told him about MF and the tourny . He then ask me if there was a site he could look at and I was glad to tell him about this one. I thought it would be great for him to check it out . Then I get home and hope he forgot the site name and cant find it so he want see this bull. Reggie works very hard for MF and should not be beat down by a few misguided people on this site . I wish I knew how many people Reggie got into MF by himself. When you come on here to slam me I want respond ,dont care what you have to say and will not return to this thread again. This is just my thoughts Doug Shanafelt |

Sad News For the Sport
Reggie:
Although our EF/MF interraction has been stymied by my time and money, I appreciate, recognize, and respect all that you have done for the sport of EF/MF. I would hate to see you leave the sport, but I understand your concerns. I may add that you leaving would be nothing less dramatic than when Pete Rozelle stepped down as commissioner of the NFL. Whatever you decide to do, you have a big fan on this end of the globe. Carpe Diem, Paul L. Gardner P.S. - "If there's not a point on the ball, what's the point to the game?" "If there's not a buzzing sound coming from your home or garage on any given weekend, then you are not having fun." Last edited by Tudorian : 08-11-2009 at 08:14 AM. Reason: Grammar |

For the record, I will not put down anyone's product because it is an insult to their effort and contribution to the hobby. We should respect anyone who goes through the time and expense of offering product for the masses. I just buy what I like the most. Steve has a sweet Browns board and I like that turbine sound. The slide is because the motors don't stop abruptly, they sort of wind down quickly. My rookie base or two was awesome on it. So were the TTC's. If I had the money I would add it to my collection. Like you said, we are a fraternity, but here in Michigan we don't exclude people, we deal with them, put them in their place, present company included. |
