Great question
On that Rams field there was no slide. I will have to ask Chris what motors he used. I want to say that the whole field is made out of that plastic they use to make signs out of. Maybe Chris can help us out.

just a simple radio shack rotary motor. i use the 3/16" wheel collars on this page as the counterweights: http://www.greatplanes.com/accys/gpmq1800.html theu are perfectly round, a great weight, and available at my local hobby shop. i also have a couple of electronic tricks up my sleeve to reduce "noise" in the motor (not actual sound noise, electrical noise that can make the motor run erratically). i also feel that the unique construction of the board itself lends to a smoother running board.
