I think AJ's point is while we may want to, many people can't possibly commit to travelling to Columbus that many times (and Miggle, and MFCA convention, etc., etc). Remember, we have playoffs too! To have the option of a modified travel game clock really helps some people to be able to pull off a travel season, a perfect example is AJ's latest trip. Its a way to be inclusive to guys who want to play but where time is a critical factor. A "travel game clock" is not by any means the primary game length, but simply a provision to help a coach make it thru the season.

By the way, the other opportunity to save a tremendous amount of time for a "speed travel game" version of the game clock is special teams. Those plays take a relatively LONG time. And of course...use the clock.

the 2-3 times , means that there are more options than just 1 weekend. Some people can only make a trip 1 time to Columbus and 1 time to Indy and if you play 3 + games each time and then play your division 2 times each , that should be enough to make a full season.
Not only that , but our season starts in September and ends in ???

Although I love my former city of Columbus would you guys be opposed of having the championship in Indiana at the location were were just at? OR having the playoffs and championship in Columbus only?

If theres 8 guys in Indiana and Illinois and you played each twice you have 14 games in. How many games is a season?
Indiana and Illinois meet up in a weekend, Ohio and others meet up then final teams and date created for playoffs.
Load up the playoff bus and head to Columbus. Cuts down travel and makes it easier to do more tournaments throughout the year if travel is cut down to a min.
Each trip has meaning....your league weekend travel youre fighting for the playoffs. If you make the playoffs your championship travel you are fighting for the crown. "Give it a meaning and they will come."

Just some thoughts to ponder from past experiences.

We are thinking along those lines. Play each team in your division twice and then play acouple more games vs. other divisions and we should end up with 16 games.
This season we are only playing 14 games.
Next year we have to work out something where there are committed coaches and we play a set schedule .
We will consider every thing to make sure every one can get their games in ,we need to have the league as the priority .
. I think traveling to Indy 1 time and Columbus 1 time during the regular season and then traveling to Columbus 1 time for the playoffs and the championship game is what we are looking at for the next season.
What do you guys think ?

The idea for the playoffs is to have all of your divisional playoff games played in your hometown, i.e. chicago, michigan, indiana gets together on a certain date and plays down to 1 representative from your area. once we are down to 4 teams, we schedule 1 date for everyone to come to columbus, or indiana, whichever works out the best, play the final 2 playoff games and the championship game in the same weekend. That way it is one trip for everyone to get together and take care of the final leg of the playoffs.
