Default very good question

Quote:
What do you use (if any) to help smooth out the Green Stuff when you are working with it?

I use some resin casting oil, called "vaseline". It's very liquid, and easy to find in any arts-craft store.

I put some on a kleenex, and I rub my modelling tools on it. Then I rub the modelling too on a clean kleenex to remove the exceeding.

One thing you have to be carefull of, it 's to not touch the fig plastic surface with your tools, where you want to put some putty on it, or it will not stick. You have to put the putty on a dry and clean surface, it will stick well, then you can smooth the whole thing with your "oiled" modelling tools.

Last thing : once it's well dry (the putty dries in 2-4hours, but you can manipulate strongly the figure after a day or 2), you 'll have to clean the figure with some water and soap, or whatever you want, to remove the oil on it, so you can paint it after that.

If the putty is too polished once it 's dry, you can also brush it with an used teeth brush and toothpaste, then wash it again with soap and water. It will give a more "mat" aspect, so the paint will stick better on it.

thank you for the comments too !

here's a little pic of the product :

That's odd, we have Vasoline over here as well, but it comes in a little jar and we use it in the bedroom instead....
