Fairies Burned By Waste

George Dubya bounced back from his poor performance last week, throwing 6-7 for 105 yards, and Orenthal Simpson continued his torrid pace, running for 117 yards and scoring 3 touchdowns as Three Mile Island defeated San Francisco 35-21. Steve Colbert returned the opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and ran for another to give the Waste a 21 - 14 lead at the half. James Leach had his best day as a Fairy, running for 96 yards and scoring 2 touchdowns. Johnny Holmes recorded 131 yards receiving and added 75 yards on the ground for San Francisco. Rod Stroker had a sack and 3 tackles to lead the Fairy defense, while the Waste were led by Colon Powell’s 5 tackles.

Sasquatch Wins Battle of Behemoths

The two time defending WMLMF champs showed just why they are the favorites to repeat, as they used an aggressive defense to throttle the bigger and stronger Wolves, 20-10. After being pushed around for the first quarter, the mighty Canadians used their superior speed and football knowledge to force three turnovers. Neither team could move the ball much on the ground, as the ‘Quatch were held to 79 yards and the Wolves to 34. The difference in the game came down to pass protection, where the Sasquatch had the advantage of the prior 2 years experience. The ‘Dog Men’ were left confused by the constant stunts being used by the outside linebackers and defensive tackles, resulting in 2 sacks and 2 interceptions. Warren ‘Full’ Moon finished the day 9-15-2 and a TD pass to Wolf Blitzer. Grog led the Sasquatch with 51 yards on 11 carries and a TD, and Theodore caught his first TD pass of the year.

Lamp Lights The Way For Mennonites

Luthar Lamp scored a trifecta, getting touchdowns while rushing, receiving and returning a kick to lead the Mennonites over the Bozos, 35-26. The clowns got on the scoreboard first when -6 sacked Billy Bob Weisser in the end zone for a safety. On the ensuing possession, Pi connected with Target on a 46 yard TD pass to up the lead to 9-0. Lamp made it 9-7 on a 56 yard TD pass from Weisser. Moreorless caught a 9 yard Pi pass to put Battle Creek back up, 16-7. A pair of TD’s by Speedy Ezekiel and Steven Stucky had the Amish in front near the end of the first half, but a 50 yard TD bomb to Target had the Bozos clinging to a 23-21 lead at halftime. Lamp’s 90 yard TD return to start the second half put the Mennonites in front to stay, 28-23. The Amish got just plain nasty after that, as the defense limited the clowns to a mere field goal in the half. Lamps 64 yard TD scamper provided the final score. It was a bitter, hard fought game that was marked by numerous penalties from both sides. For the second game in a row, Weisser was held to under 100 yards passing, and Speedy struggled running, gaining only 25 yards on 8 carries. Louis Lapp had 6 tackles for the Amish, while One Eleven led the Bozos with 5.

Munich Overpowers Ra
The Third Reich defense was too much for Egypt to handle, causing 4 turnovers and 3 sacks in a 35-7 route. Wilhelm Klink showed why they call him ‘The Colonel’, throwing for 193 yards and 2 touchdowns and running for another. His counterpart, Moses, was under constant pressure and completed 8-19 for 99 yards and 3 interceptions. Albert ‘General’ Burkhalter recorded 5 tackles and 2 sacks to lead the Reich defense. Sebastian Keller recovered a fumble and returned it 65 yards for a score as the Reich easily played it’s best game in franchise history. Ramses led the Ra with 70 yards rushing and scored their lone touchdown.

I'm still predicting a Mennonite sweep with the new Werewolves in the final game! Yes, I'm a homer!

Here’s the schedule and odds for this weeks games:

Killer Bees at Sasquatch. The Bees looked good last week against the Zombies, The ‘Quatch looked better against the Wolves. Kalamazoo will keep the game close, but the Canadians are just too strong. Sasquatch by 7 points.

Flaming Fairies at Bozos. San Francisco has yet to win this year, though they have been playing well. Battle Creek is coming off a disappointing loss last week. The game will come down to an overtime ‘kick off’. Pat Medown gets the nod over Bernie. Fairies by 3 points.

Mennonites at Third Reich. The Amish are one of two teams that are undefeated, but haven’t got their running game untracked. The Reich are playing solid defense. I’m going with Munich in the upset of the week by a field goal.

Werewolves at Toxic Waste. Weirdwolf’s team got schooled last week by the league champs. The Waste are on a roll with Simpson. We’ll have to wait and see how much the Wolves learned. Three Mile Island keeps rolling along by 4 points.

Zombies at Ra. New Zealand was a turnover machine last week. Egypt got buried in the sand. The Hall of Famers get it together this week as Dan Fouts and Bart Star make the Egyptians cry for their mummies. Zombies by 10 points.
