Default Never said Roy was right...

Never said that Roy was right, only that if that was the only way to get the player down (not trying to cause injury), so be it. Rather a 15yd penalty, than give up a TD. Don't want to loose the aggressiveness of the game. I don't want to see any NFLer, or pro athlete get injured due to a dirty play. I want to see TO get lit up when coming across the middle, but it is not likely to happen with todays rules barring DB's from aggressive play.

I had my foot fractured on a horse collar tackle in high school. It's illegal and he did it anyway. A person's body is put in jeopardy when the rules of the game are not enforced. Let's not forget that these players are real people and they feel pain.

The fine and the suspension are fully justified.

Someone said something about dresses on QBs. QBs are looking downfield to throw a pass and are blind to the pursuit. They can't defend themselves. The guys that are hitting these QBs outweight them by like 100 lbs in some cases. Running with a full head of steam. As for horsecollar tackles, they are really bad for the foot, ankle, and knees.

You can't tee off on kickers and quarterbacks man!

Again, players bodies are in jeopardy and should be protected as much as possible.

Default Football still is...

not only a contact sport - and at the NFL level - a major COLLISION SPORT. If you play you at any level you have to be prepared. I gave and received plenty of good hits. But just like spearing is outlawed for good reason - so too should any action that is known to be clearly dangerous or possibly career or even life threatening to the hittee or the one delivering the hit.
