Thumbs up Base tweaking

I am indeed a rookie in the EFL world an I have had the pleasure of playing my first 2 games with Coach Joe.G and Coach Ed.R, great friends. Ultimately I played the "National One", and Coach Jack. Coach Ed always made it his business to mention my name to the great tweakers of the EFL world, and I contacted & received bases from and ultimately met Coach Norbert, Coach Jim.D, Coach RM, Coach Pratt, Coach Geno, and I will soon meet the great Coach K-Lo.

After the first 2 games and additional bases my loss margin went to 6-0, 10-7, and 7-6. My point not only did the great aforementioned Coaches supply me with a high caliber squad, they took the time to school me on how to play the game and how to coach a team. Eventualy, i learned the art of winning a game. coach K-Lo says it best "you gonna have to learn how to put some points on the board". I communicate with him as muc h as possible and it was coach K-Lo and the defensive philosophy of Coach pratt that kept the offense from scoring pass plays for the latter part of the NHFL 2007 season.
I have the emails and I re-read the theories on a daily basis. I spoke to coach Jim and sat with him at Winterfest and got schooled on neutralizing the loopers. that wisdom along with what Coach K-Lo taught me the loopers stayed out of my backfield. Coach Norbert would always get a call after my games and no matter what happened he would say "...well you are getting better buddy..."

The combination of all that wisdom helped me become a bit more competitive and I made it to the NHFl playoffs. One day my bases were left in the hot car and my power line was weakend. I immediately panicked and called to get more bases, but i realized the coaches were leaning towards telling me to make what I have work. ultimatly, they sent me an emergency tweaked base kit and I was ready for the NHFL playoffs. The board I played on speed was so low that my new power line could not get the vibration it needed to prove that my over 700+ yards rushing was no fluke. Thats when it hit me, I
need to learn to tweak so that I could have bases for any and all board conditions and I have the blue prints from the bases the great coaches sent me. At first I felt like I let the Coaches down that sent me the bases, but i realized my mind was so set on getting the bases from them and wanting the bases to work for me, I did not factor in the board speed element and that home team controled the board speed, therefore, even my best allstar tweaked base combo was not enough when faced with unfathomable factors.

My point I call the great tweakers and ask questions and get their wisdom.
that they are so often to share. I can firmly say that all the tweakers mentioned have all tried to talk me out of spending unnecessary money on bases, even though it was going to them. I have a great deal of respect for my NHFL league mates and all of the coaches that have taken the time to share the philosophy of EFL especialy tweaking, Coach K-Lo, Coach RM, Coach Norbert, Coach Jim.D, Coach Pratt, Coach Geno, and KC Bill.

National One said it best in the beggining of the season "a strong team doesnt neccesarily mean victories". Thanks Coach Ed for being A
brother and A Coach Joe for keeping me inspired, Coach Jack for my first visit to NHFL Central and National of the Philly crew for keeping it real.

Coach Flint I didnt forget you thanks for the scrimmage in KC and sharing your tweaking skills. ps, did your dad give you the game ball I sent you? LOL

Coach Weirdwolf thanks for the scrimmage and Coach Lance be easy in KC.......
My first post so EFL world please be easy on me......

Hi GrandMasterKC,

Hello my friend. My name is John but I am better known as Coach_J. Welcome to the hobby and the chatboard. This is a great place to get your electric football questions answered.

I am glad that you had an opportunity to meet some of the best tweakers in the hobby and have them tweak bases for you. You have also received valuable coaching strategies from other coaches as well. One of the things that I have learned about our hobby is that people are always willing to help. Yes a strong team is not always the best team. You still must develop strategies against your opponents.

Have a good day, thanks so much for sharing, and again welcome to the hobby and the chatboard.

John aka Coach_J

Cool Base tweaking and the great ones sharing their wisdom

Thanks Coach-J and Coach K-Lo,
I look forward to continuing to be retaught this EFL thing we are brothers in. I have tweaked a couple of bases for the kids at the school and wanted to steal them back. (LOL), but I have learned from the best that "in order to keep it, you have to give it away." I can only imagine how high the pile of bases would mount if the legends kept their best works to themselves.

I encourage the jr coaches here at the school to try to tweak, some get it and some are getting it.

"when the student is ready the teacher appears"....."the teacher has and will always remain a student to those that know and a teacher of the students for those that wish to learn"

I will always remain humble towards those that share their wisdom. I recall throwing away the TTC QB and putting dimes between the bases and the men 20 lb teams LOL. I am in the process of learning how to pass to increase my offensive output. I am truly amazed at what has evolved into the "EFL World."

I am slowly learning to become a better tweaker each day that I sit down as Coach Norbert told me "sit for a 1/2 per day and work on your tweaking and you will get better at it" Thanks to all the Coaches who have and will continue to let me borrow an ear with my "How to tweak" questions.

Again I state I will still reachout to you legends for tweaked bases for I have a long way to go and so much more to learn so when you see 908-239-1172 it's me (LOL)!!!!!

Default tweak 102

Thanks to Jimbo,i can tweak fast bases very well now.I'm still learning to tweak some strong bases but i'm getting their. I got some tornado alley bases from Al and you just pinch the prongs and go. But i like the proline fast bases out the box. btower06

Thumbs up

Coach Karim,

You are always a pleasure to be around , to play , and to talk the hobby. Going 0-4 was tough but then going 3-1 after catching on was great to watch. Get to a few tournaments, keep talking and learning and encourage the rest of the Garden State Region to play and get to the tournaments. Heck, in the game you lost in the playoffs, you only lost 0-3.

Great to see you post.

I have found by further investigation that tweaking is an art and a gift. In time maybe many of us will become better at it...if it is The Most Highs will! Some of us must be Coaches, some players, some tweakers, and some have all the gifts and share them with others. Hulk: and Thor a forever eternal battle amongst two greats and I have personaly been blessed to know and have befriended both and to have fielded a 2nd thorough team with a combo of the aformentioned, with addition to some K-Lo bases, Pratt, and RM:rolleyes: (Geno where ya at buddy? Waiting for the Wide tops), I currently have a strong 2nd team the "Shakils".

I have learned to keep in tune to my league mates activities (MFB) post and where they are upgrading so that I can be mindful to utilize my veterans on coverage assignments. Once you have a thorough squad learn to Coach them and your bases will prove committed and your team will desire success.
