Week 3 is finished. Here's the results!

Wolves Wallop Waste

Three Mile Island suffered a meltdown at the hands of the Werewolves as George Dubya threw 4 interceptions in a 45-21 shellacking. Jack Nicholson was unstoppable, running for 145 yards on 18 carries and scoring 3 touchdowns for the dog men. The cunning canines held the leagues leading rusher, Orenthal Simpson to only 39 yards on 7 carries. Jim Baker recovered a fumble and ran it 36 yards for a score, and Eric Dickheadson returned a punt 84 yards for a touchdown as the Waste had trouble mounting any kind of offense against Weirdwolf’s team. Wolf Blitzer had 4 ½ tackles and 2 interceptions to lead the Werewolf defense, while Cassius Clay had 6 tackles for Three Mile Island.

Ra Rallies For First Win

Egypt clawed their way back from a 14 point deficit to win their first game 45-42. With Moses getting hammered by a relentless New Zealand pass rush, the Ra turned to their little used reserve running backs Khnum and Imhotep. The duo responded in a huge way, with Khnum running for 171 yards on 9 carries and scoring 3 touchdowns and Imhotep adding 73 yards and a score.

The Zombies took a 28 - 14 lead going into the half with scores by James Lofton, Bob Hayes and Curtis Martin on Dan Fouts/Bart Star passes and a 35 yard TD run by the bus, Jerome Bettis. Rameses ran for 108 yards and a score to help tie the game at 42 all late in the 4th quarter. Sphinx’s 61 yard field goal as time expired gave the Egyptians their first win. Star/Fouts combined for 10-17-0 passing for 295 yards and 5 touchdowns. Piy led the Ra defense with 6 ½ tackles while Deacon Jones had 4 tackles and 2 sacks for the Zombies.

Clowns Run Amok

Battle Creek used a punishing running attack and a stifling pass defense to control the game and emerge with a 31-21 victory over San Francisco. The game got off to a bizarre start on the first play of the game when More or Less scooped up a Two Cents fumble and ran 60 yards for a touchdown. The Fairies evened things up on a Tom Cruise pass to James Leach. On the ensuing play, 5 ½ burst open for an 80 yard touchdown run to give the clowns 2 touchdowns on 2 plays. From there on, the defenses stiffened up and Bernie’s field goal on the final play of the first half gave Battle Creek a 17 -7 lead.

Another More or Less touchdown upped the lead to 24-7. The Fairies then took control and scores by Johnny Holmes and Leach closed the gap to 24-21 early in the fourth quarter. The Bozos then used a time consuming 13 play, 73 yard scoring drive to put them back up by 10 points, 31-21. Cruise tried to rally his team, but a sack by Packman on 4th down ended the game. More or Less ended up with 111 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns for the Bozos while Holmes’ had 100 yards and a TD for San Francisco. Cruise was held to 78 yards passing, going 6-15-1 and a TD. Jack Stone led the Fairy defense with 3 ½ tackles and a sack while Packman was tops for the clowns with 4 tackles and a sack.

Sasquatch Win Big

Once again, the Sasquatch defense throttled the hapless Killer Bees to give them a 28-14 win. Chappy picked off 2 Kerry Kingbee passes and Gopher added another as the much improved Sasquatch secondary kept the Killer Bees from getting into any sort of rhythm. The big guys from Canada relied on their dynamic duo of Grog and Muckman, as they combined for 170 yards on 30 carries and scored 2 touchdowns apiece. They needed to, as Stinkwater lived up to the first part of his name, completing only 4 of 13 passes and an interception for 92 yards. Once again, the Bees struggled to move the ball on the ground as Steve Swarm’s 75 yard TD run made up the bulk of Kalamazoo’s 84 yard rushing total. Shy Guy had 4 tackles for the ’Quatch while Elliott Gould led the Bee defense with 8 tackles.

Reich Rolls Again

Munich’s defense limited the Mennonite offense to a single score as it put constant pressure on Billy Bob Weisser, sacking him twice and forcing two interceptions by Dirk Lange in a 21-14 victory. Speedy Ezekiel returned the opening kick off 90 yards for a TD to put the Germans into an early hole. Richard Meier’s 2nd quarter TD run left the two teams tied after two quarters.

At halftime, Joe Goebbels benched Fritz Mueller for his lackluster play and shipped him off to the Russian front. He then turned to little used Sven Wagner, who responded in a huge way by running for 110 yards and 2 touchdowns in the second half. Inspired by Goebbels halftime ‘pep talk’, the Third Reich defense put the clamps on the amish running game, limiting them to just 39 yards. Speedy’s 3rd quarter TD briefly tied the game, but Wagner’s second TD run of the day sealed the victory. The Bible Thumper finished the day 7-16-2 for 126 yards while his counterpart, Wilhelm Klink, was 7-13-1 for 124 yards. Albert Burkhalter had 6 ½ tackles for the Reich and Henry McCracken had 5 tackles and a sack for the Mennonites.

Here’s the games coming up for ‘week’ 4...

Third Reich at Killer Bees. The Reich are on a roll and have a winning record for the first time in team history. The Killer Bees are smarting after their loss to the Sasquatch. Kalamazoo is desperate for a win, Munich has the confidence. It’ll be very close, but the Bees pull it out by a point.

Toxic Waste at Mennonites. The Amish have been out of sync all season and it cost them dearly last week. Three Mile Island has been riding the back of Orenthal Simpson. Something tells me that the Mennonites will finally get back on track. Men in black by 6 points.

Zombies at Flaming Fairies. New Zealand has the number one offense, San Francisco’s defense is next to last. If the Zombie defense plays up to their potential, the game won’t even be close. Zombies by 10 points.

Ra at Werewolves. Egypt finally got a win last week. Weirdwolf’s team is howling. It’s a full moon out and the wolves will be simply monstrous. Werewolves romp by 2 touchdowns.

Battlin’ Bozos at Sasquatch. A rematch of last years championship game. The clowns bring the number 2 offense and number 2 defense. The ‘Quatch are number 3 in both categories. Look for lots of hitting and lots of scoring. It’ll be closer than last year, but the big guys still come out 5 points ahead.

Week #4 is in the books. There were some close games, some not so close games, and some shockers. Here you go!

Bees Falter At The Finish

Kalamazoo let a 13 point advantage midway through the final quarter slip away as Munich came from behind to win a wild one, 42-41.The Reich took a 14-7 lead after one quarter on TD runs by Richard Meier and Sven Wagner while the Killer Bees’ George B. Hive had his first TD catch of the year.

The Bees had 21 unanswered points in the second quarter behind Jason Stinger’s 5th TD catch, Jerry Yellowjacket’s 45 yard fumble recovery and a TD run by Steve Swarm. Wilhelm Klink sneaked in from 2 yards out to make it 28-21 Bees at the half.

Stinger caught his 2nd TD pass of the game, and his 6th of the year, for the only score in the third quarter, but Paul Inated’s extra point attempt failed, leaving the score 34-21 Kalamazoo heading into the final quarter.

Wagner scored from 13 yards out to start the 4th, but the Bees answered with Swarm’s 2nd TD run of the day. Another Wagner TD run pulled the Reich within 6. Munich recovered the onside kick and Meier’s 2nd TD of the day proved to be the clincher. Kerry Kingbee finished the day 6-11-2 for 112 yards and 3 TD’s while Klink was 13-19-1 for 234 yards. Wagner had his second 100 yard performance in a row, gaining 133 yards on 17 carries and 3 TD’s Yellowjacket topped the defense for the Bees, getting a pair of tackles, an interception and a fumble return for a touchdown. Manfred Mann and Wolfgang Hahn each had an interception for the Third Reich.

Amish On Top Again
The Mennonites continued their winning ways with a sound 28-21 victory over Three Mile Island. Billy Bob Weisser was back in form, throwing for 198 yards on 9-15-0 passing and 2 touchdowns. Speedy Ezekiel added 2 TD’s to go with his 71 yards on 16 carries.

Orenthal Simpson returned a kick for 95 yards for the Waste’s only score of the first half as the Amish led after 2 quarters, 14-7. Simpson had a big 68 yard TD run in the third to make it 21-14, but Steve Austin’s 77 yard bomb from Weisser put the men in black back up by 14 going into the final quarter. Simpson’s 3rd TD of the day brought the waste within 7, 28-21, but the Mennonites ran the clock down with a time consuming drive deep within the Waste territory, leaving Three Mile with not enough time to mount any kind of comeback. Billy Yoder had 3 tackles for the Mennonites, while “Tricky” Dick Nixon had 5 for the Waste.
