Default MFCA 2010

If next year the MFCA is again able to utilize the Stearn Center I will take advantage of that, I think the saving of money trumps the need for wifi. Coach spectators could send text updates to people not there. If the boards were more spread out would there have been the same issue with power? Cats who want to stay in motels will stay in motels.

Now that I've experienced the experience I think I'll be better prepared next year. I missed out on some things because of time, I would have liked to do more EF stuff. I don't need to do the enshrinement, the tailgate and game I'd like to do, and playing some games would be pretty sweet too

my single shiny cent

Well,

I can see where this is going and it doesn't look good for the West again. I perfectly understand choosing Canton though. Great atmosphere and close to major metro areas, but not for all of us. I might make it out there someday, but I sure don't see why Dallas, TX or even Denver, CO isn't a better option to make it a little easier for everyone in the country.

I completely understand and I don't want to seem unconcerned about the West because I am not. The fact is, those of us that have experienced the Canton thing have felt a kind of magic at the events and I think nobody wants to leave that behind. I have often thought about an MFCA West Convention in addition. Maybe we could tie in with Eric and Daves or create a new event there, based off what we have created in Canton. I'm not sure how yet, but I am open to ideas. What really makes Canton swing is the format and the chance to do some things outside of the miniature games. Those things have helped us to bond and develop more tight friendships. With the other association I am involved with, The Pro Footballs Ultimate Fan Assoc, we have been meeting in Canton now for 11 years. our dues are $125.00 a year and we have 200 members from every NFL city. They have often thought about moving it around but ultimately the hotels and the HOF that they have established a repoirre with have kept them coming back every year and it gets better and bigger every year.

One other thing I am working on is to get another convention to join us, if we stay at the Stearn Center...can you envision the atmosphere if we could pull in a BBQ Tailgating convention to camp out all around the center.....uuummmmmm and buzzzzzzz

wherever it is next year I will be there.
I pose one question, I've seen alot of talk about an universal rules set.
why not run a tourny based on this as part of the MFCA convention?

thanks,
Ron

Where ever we have it, I hope we can work on the promoting part of it. Outside of the Stearn center, nobody knew we were there. Does anyone live near Canton or Cleveland that can get wth some youth groups, United Way or Boy Scouts to get the kids to come and see what we're all about? Or letting the local newspapers know so that they can have an article or two telling everyone where we'll be? We need new blood amd enthusiasm to keep this thing going....

After all, do we really need just another tournament, or do we want to have a real convention with displays and booths and exhibitions for the general public to see and get excited about this great hobby of ours???

dnt really think we as a great and upcoming association really need another tournament thier , as much as we could have a kids day at our next conv. im sure there is alot of boy scout troops in the local area that would love to come and see what we are all about and have there own skills event ect. that would be sweet.

Default i hate!!!!!!!

i missed it and i promise it won't happen again.you have the convention in canton for the pro football hall of fame and i think that is one of the best places to have it,but how about having it in south bend at the college football hall of fame during there induction week, since the teams that were used for the tourney were college teams.when you plan on using pro teams have it in canton and when college teams are used have it in soth bend, maybe you can alternate the years.just a suggestion!!!

This was actually discussed with the Stearn Center, but because this was our first year to try it at the center, they were leary about letting the kids in like we did last year. Now that they have seen what this is all about, I think we wil be able to promote it more, get out more press releases and build on what we have established. Any one wanting to assist in the press release area and helping to develop the kid's events can volunteer to work on a particular aspect that interests them. I am excited that we have so much interest and discussion going and we still have 350 days till the next one!

Actually, the CBSMF was responsible for the college tournament. The MFCA cannot openly promote either the NFL or the NCAA so the MFCA side will always be a bring what you got tournament.
