What are the rules of self passing? I know we did this as a kid but I am sure there is more to it now. Is their any video of this in action? That would be really helpful in getting the rest of us to understand.

Default Weirdwolf....

glad you asked. We have discussed doing an instructional self-passing video for Youtube. We decided to work on it in the next couple weeks. Will post when it's ready. All you guys would love the self-passing game in game action. Open your minds. I can supply you with replica NFL and NCAA passing balls if you would like to try em. They are slightly larger than scale-size--want em a little bigger so that when it hits your receiver--you'll know it!

Also, weirdwolf, I did a post recently about the rules of self-passing. Check it out when you can. Peace to you, and thanks for having an open mind.

The MFCA is open to ALL forms of miniature football. We originally defined Miniature Football as: Miniature football players on bases which are propelled over a miniature football field through the vibration created by an attached electric motor.
We left the deinition broad so that all forms can be included and by that definition, self passing is included and accepted by the MFCA as a viable form of passing. That's not saying that I will ditch my TDQ any time soon but I really want to know what all is involved.

It'll just take time and perseverance.

Against self passing! I'll stop playing MF and SELL EVERYTHING ON EBAY the day this takes hold to the hobby.

Passing sticks are as far as I am willing to go on pass options and only under certain conditions.

As Wolf said, it is accepted and can be embraced by those few who do it. This is a think tank and I am just thinking out loud. Only my opinion, no offense to anyone.

I also heard self-passing causes blindness.

Lightbulb How about...

...forming a rules committee through MFCA (like the existing committees the organization already has) to create universal guidelines/rules that Wolf's thread started discussing a year and a half ago. STOP ME IF THIS HAS BEEN DONE OR DISCUSSED. The committee selects one or two topics to vote on...let's say an easy one like the types of bases allowed or QB's to be used. Have an online discussion on the topic(s) for about a week or two. Let the membership vote on the topic. The results will be law. Then move on to another topic.

SO LET IT BE WRITTEN...SO LET IT BE DONE!

Default Been Done Seven Times Seven!!!

There are already 7 different sets of "national" rules as defined by each Tournament. Not to mention, the 100s of leagues that use some or all of one or more sets. I would say 7 different styles to choose from is enough. No one should be THEE NATIONAL SET OF RULES. About the closest to "national" is Miggle's since they are the ONLY manufacturer of the game. Don't even include that other company's POC here!!! But even then their rules are influenced by different people each year, so again it has flavoring from the others sprinkled on top.
  1. Miniature College Football Championship (1st wkend in Jan.)
  2. Miggle World Championship (last wkend in Jan.)
  3. Buzzfest (Mar)
  4. Beltsville Bash (May)
  5. Bama Blast (1st wkend in June)
  6. Seawall BRAWL (3rd wkend in June)
  7. Texas Shootout (TBD, usually Labor Day)
