Hi,

this morning I painted a little, finishing the basic colors (even if I have some details to correct).

Next stage : highlight the figure (especially pants and helmet, to try to match the real color), and after that, the free hand details (numbers, name, pinstripping).

ps : I put my hand in the bottom of the fig to allow better autofocus. It's a little tip I learned making macro pictures

Default thank you all for the comments !!!

Now, gthe next stages, a little pinstripping action. If you're a smoker, smoke a cigarette before starting this job

I noticed that my leg stripes are a little too thin comparing the real uniform. Maybe i'll fix that if I find a little courage.

I added some light and shades effects too. Now I have to make the number, helmet logo and name. TOnight or tomorrow morning

WOW! Between you, gridiron painter and Chris Fields posting great looking figures , I cant wait to get started customizing. I have tried it before with negative results but with more instructive posts like this, I am sucked back in.

OK, who are you trying to fool Frenchie?? I figured it out. That fgure is really 2 feet tall and those are giant inflatable fingers you put behind it to make it appear small... Man, I'm never going to post another pic of my teams again. What did you use to paint those stripes, a laser paint gun?? You must only have 3 hairs on that brush. Absolutely increadible. I'd give you 100 thumbs up, but I only have two.

the technic to paint strips is quite simple, for example, the leg stripes :

you make a "big" regular red strip, with a 1 or 0 good brush (martre kolinsky is the best, but it's expensive...so this days I paint with crap synthetic brushes ).

then, you take a 3/0 or 5/0 brush, and you paint a regular strip inside of it.

If you make mistakes, you can fix it with a 5/0 brush from the outside line.

the secret is really the brushe quality, and the paint mixing : too thick, you'll not be able to make a regular stripe. Too liquid, you'll see the undercoat.

@Newcastle Hitmen : Everything is a question of time : don't forget I already spent about 20 hours on the fig...and it stills not complete. Of course, a better painter will work faster, but no matter your level, to achieve decent result, you'll have to spend a lot of time modelling.

And to conclude, a little pic to see how massive is that Center !
