Dozens of hours
THank you a lot !
I don't know how much time I spent on this squad, but certainly dozens of hours (30hours maybe just for that 6 figures ? Maybe 100hours to complete the O squad? I really don't know) For me that is the pleasure of miniatures and modelling : finally achieve the result you had in your mind when you first opened the bag of figs. It's the same for scenery, perhaps even more spectacular : you think about a scene, and finally can see and touch what you imagined ! |

Dude!
I would probably put these babies in a display case, never to be touch by human hands again.
Great job Dmitri.

they will fight !
My brother goes to Paris for holidays, I hope we'll be able to play before he goes !
Otherwise, we'll play (ironman format since we doesn't not have enough prepared figs and bases to play the "standard" 22players team) on Christmas day (he come to family lunch, so we'll certainly make a game after...my first Christmas MF game !). It will be a massacre, since I'll play that 4g team against his 3 grams Packers demo ironman team In january, we'll fight with better weapons (each one with detailed 4g 22 players teams and new proline bases). After that (completing the 49ers and steelers teams), I've got PLENTY (I mean...really PLENTY) of projects for MF... Last edited by the french guy : 12-20-2009 at 03:58 PM. |

la suite !
Hi,
Just a little pic to show you the last steps before completing the squad : the modelling flock stage. I glue on top of the base some modelling flock with some PVA glue. As an "old school" figs modeller, I don't glue flock on side of the base : there is no really a reason for that...I just like it that way The technic is simple : put PVA glue, spread some modelling flock on it (in wargaming you can glue some sand...but since I use FF.net figures heavily re-sculpted, the weight is already important (perhaps even too much !). Once it's dry, You can paint it or better : brush it with some diluted PVA glue to fix it well (since the bases will destroy the flock if you manipulate your figs too often). |

Your work looks outstanding Dimitri
Dimitri,
No doubt some of the best work I have ever seen and I appreciate you doing them on FF.Net figures. Keep doing what you do and stay inspired in the customizing. It is so easy to start off strong and get burned out, trust me! Keep throwing out positive vibes with what you do. Sometimes, you know I am up after hours and I want to get you on my TV station but I don't like bothering people too much after hours. Reg |
