.... BOOMER SOONER BOMBS, BLANKS BUCKEYES

Oklahoma (1-1, 1-0 Western Conference) recorded the first shutout in ECFA history today, beating the Ohio State Buckeyes (0-2, 0-1), 26-0.

This game wasn't for those who like offense. In fact, the Sooners only gained 174 yards on the day. But they used two big plays and a stellar defense to frustrate the Buckeyes at every turn. The first big play came after Ohio State's first possession ended in a punt. Carter caught the punt at the 36, broke right, then got a convoy of blockers headed left and waltzed into the end zone for the touchdown.

After taking a 13-0 lead in the second quarter on field goals of 45 and 51 yards, Oklahoma broke the game open midway through the second quarter. Musil took a handoff and rambled behind the left guard and tackle, then broke clear for a 68-yard score. OU ran for 161 yards on the day, as the Buckeyes linebackers didn't do a good enough job keeping Sooner running backs from getting to the second level.

Down 20-0, Ohio State appeared awoke, and reached the 49 yard line on Sanzenbacher's 10-yard catch from Pryor - but he fumbled! Wort forced it and recovered it for the Sooners, and they added another field goal before halftime to make it 23-0.

Early in the fourth quarter, the Buckeyes drove into Sooner territory, reaching the 39. But Saine was stopped for -1 on a run, and three straight Pryor passes fell incomplete. The next drive ended simliarly, then Pryor was picked off at tOSU 38 to end his team's last chance at putting anything on the board.

With national title hopes perhaps already extinguished, Ohio State takes on BYU in a conference game in Week 3. The Sooners, meanwhile, take on Michigan, also a conference game.

Oklahoma has always been my favorite college team. I have been having some very dominating games lately myself.

They had a good running game, and their front 4 defensively dominated the game. The two defensive tackles, both Miggle wide-arm ends, were pretty much unstoppable.

This against an Ohio State team that is almost all Haiti Repro/Buzzball with a couple Miggle proline figures.

OSU might get one of those custom figs, they need the help!

For the pictures this is what one of the other members told me to do. Click on the picture and go to Open with then on the next screen click on paint this will bring the picture up. then hit control and w. then a dimensions screen will come up. what I do is hit the backspace button and chang the dimensions from 100 x 100 to 30 x 30 then enter. If you like what you see hit control and then s and that should do it.

My Tennessee team is like that. Both defensive ends are the miggle wide arm guys and they usually dominate but this time the Chargers buzzball linemen were getting their hands up into the right spot to get leverage and actually back them up or turn them. Now that i have numbered all my Legends teams by position I try my best to line my linemen up in the same position on every play at least on defense.

... HUSKERS LOSE GRIP, THEN HOLD ON

Nebraska had victory sealed, then fumbled it away, then came up big, all in the final 4 minutes of the Cornhuskers' ECFA Week 2 game against the Clemson Tigers. In the end, it added up to a 17-10 Nebraska win.

Leading, 17-3, in the fourth quarter, the Cornhuskers (1-1, 0-0 Western)seemed to have things well in hand. But they couldn't move the ball much in the fourth quarter, and the Tigers (0-2, 0-0 Eastern) closed within a touchdown when Parker hit Ashe for a 20-yard touchdown pass.

After a Nebraska punt, Clemson drove a short field and looked a certainty to score again, and and again, Ashe was involved. But this time, the plan turned to dust, when Ashe caught a pass, was hit at the Nebraska 10 by Smith, and fumbled. The Cornhuskers recovered and tried to run the clock out with 3:56 left. But on 1st-and-10, Legate ran 5 yards and fumbled himself! Maxwell recovered for Clemson, and the Tigers were 15 yards from paydirt again with 3:15 to go and three time outs.

Parker had to scramble on 1st down, gaining 1, as he was pressured by Nebraska defensive lineman Williams. That was a story all day, as Williams had a whopping 11 tackles, including three for loss (1 sack). A 10-yard penalty on Clemson on second down wiped out a short gain, and Ellington caught a pass on 2nd-and-19, getting back 8 yards. But a pass toward the end zone was inadvertently caught at the line of scrimmage by Dye on third down, leaving 7 seconds left. Ashe broke a double team and got open at the 6, and caught the pass, but he was tackled by Nebraska LB Fisher from behind to end the game.

Both teams have all their conference games in front of them, so national title dreams aren't yet dead for Clemson. For Nebraska, it's a second straight game that came down to the final play, but this time the ending was much better than their 25-23 loss to Purdue.
