Default The 2008 Seawall BRAWL: Legends Ball

The MFCA is sponsoring the Seawall Brawl Skills Competition. This is not an official MFCA regional or qualifier but is specific to the Seawall Brawl event. ALL coaches regardless of membership in the MFCA may compete in this event at no cost. The rules will be identical to standard MFCA skills competition rules. The only exception will be we will only allow 1 entry per each event due to the number of people in attendance. With the rules changes we have made you can enter any competition at any moment you have free time as long as a MFCA official is available.

Passing
Kicking
Fastest Man (maximum of 3.3)
Fastest Man enhanced (3.4 and over)
Strongest Man (maximum of 3.3)
Strongest Man enhanced (3.4 and over)

For rules and specifications go to: http://www.miniaturefootball.org/sit...fm?pageID=1269 or download the word doc at: http://users.anytimeweb.com/Clients/...on_Packet2.doc

We are excited to add this event to the Seawall brawl and hope that many coaches will participate! We encourage all who enter to consider signing on with the MFCA but membership is not required to compete.

Cool Got Belt?!?

For those who are coming to the Seawall Brawl…

I’ve been asked repeatedly why I haven’t enthusiastically been promoting the Brawl. It’s a very simple answer… It’s just hard to get into the mood. At present, our economy stinks and gas prices are through the roof; thus driving up the prices on food and utilities. I’ve traveled out of town several times in the last 6 weeks and every time I stop to fill up my tank, it costs me $90-plus. I’m not made out of money, just as I know that you guys aren’t either. It’s hard to get excited when you know that times are tough. I almost feel guilty for having an event. If not for the charity, the number of you guys coming out, (especially those with airline reservations) and the contracts signed by Jimbo and me for the different things that will be taking place… I probably would have cancelled the Brawl just so we all could save some money. The way things are going most of us will be lucky if we make it to 1 tournament next year.

Since the Brawl is going to happen despite our current economic situation, I guess we’ll try to make this a Miniature Football event worth attending. In eleven days we’re going to open up our doors to all who venture out to the Tidewater area in search of fellowship, football, and fun. Jimbo and I are looking forward to seeing family & friends, and finally putting faces with names to those of you that we haven’t met.

Each year our goals are to raise money for the Police Unity tour, and to make our tournament a little better than the previous year. Keeping this in mind, we started with the Championship Belt. The coach who wins this year’s Brawl is going to take home a gold and silver encrusted belt adorned with American Flags. In keeping with tradition, here is D.C. Smith modeling the 2008 Seawall Brawl Championship Belt. I want to wish everybody who’s planning to participate, the best of luck.

Peace,

Don

PS. The pictures don't do it justice and... Thanks for the Pep-talk Reg!
