Can You Still Be Considered A Great Coach If
You don't really travel and test your skills against coaches your equal whom you've never met but just heard about. For instance, if you win titles in your league or alway's do very well, can you be considered top notch against coaches you see on a consistent basis. It's like being the prettiest girl in a high school in your neighborhood. But when that girl goes to college and see's the other girls from around the country are just as pretty and some 100% prettier, it's like falling off a cliff. ' YOU MEAN THERE'S SOMEONE WHO LOOKS BETTER THAN ME" "ALOT OF WOMEN THINK THAT WAY.
It can be like a boxer who alway's has rematches against others he knocked out previously. He know's there game plan from seeing them so much. But when he must fight a contender from lets say germany and that german fighter has just as much pull in his country, it can be a little humbling. What im saying is do you need to see and do more outside of your comfort zone. peatro's has traveled and won, don smith has traveled and won, mike robertson has traveled and won, jimbo has traveled and won, lomax has traveled and won. adrian baxter, norbert, there's a big list of coaches who have accomplished this feat ! Don't you want to see where you are of the field with coaches your equal from around the country. Im not sure, maybe it's enough for guy's to just be satisfied with what they accomplish in their league's. It's A huge miniature football world out there that needs to be explored. BEING THE PRETTIEST GIRL IN HER HOMETOWN WILL ONLY CAUSE HER HEARTACHE WHEN THEY CROSS THAT BORDER AND HER MAN SAY'S TO HIMSELF. "OH CRAP, THERE ARE OTHERS. I THINK I WOULD WANT TO SEE THE OTHER'S BEFORE HAND SO IF I SEE A WOMAN WITH A SIX PACK. YOU CAN BEST BELIEVE IM COMING TO THE PARTY WITH AN 8 PACK !!!!!!!! MINIATURE FOOTBALL WANT'S TO MEET EVERY COACH IN CREATION, THE ONLY WAY TO DO THAT IF YOU GUY'S COME ON DOWN TO THE STREETS AND DANCE. LETS GO COACHES, "IF YOU WANT TO BE GREAT, YOU GOT TO LEAVE THAT STATE, CHECK THIS CHAT BOARD FOR THE NEXT TOURNAMENT DATE. I HOPE THIS POST DOES NOT CAUSE ANY DEBATE, I JUST WANT TO MEET YOU, BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. MANTARAYDRE

I think its good to step of the porch every now and then.
Don Smith told me one time, if you win a league title or a tourney title, that accomplishment is just as gratifying as anyone else whose won a major or minor event, the time you put in to preparing that team is just the same as anyone else that preparing there teams, I would never say a hobbyists is a good or bad coach because that person may not venture out to play others, for me when I went to the first Brawl to see if I could play with more experienced coaches, I was happy with my outcome, I feel if you want to and are able to do so, yes venture out play whomever, but the bigger picture is to keep our hobby alive, and spreading.

The Answer Is Twofold
1. IF you are content playing and winning in your home league and don't have the means ($$$) to go anywhere else, that's fine.
2. BUT, IF you consistently say and tell all of your leaguemates that you "Coulda, woulda, shoulda..." to whomever just won such and such Tournament or "They're LUCKY I didn't go!" or "IF I were there..." or "IF he played here I'd whoop his...!" and so on and so forth - THEN IN MY BOOK... "YOU AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT A PORCH DOG...BRAGGIN' ALL THE TIME. YOU AIN'T NOTHIN' BUT A PORCH DOG...LYIN' ALL THE TIME. YOU AIN'T NEVER WON A TOURNEY... YOU AIN'T NO CHAMP TO ME!!!" |

Ego vs Substance
I feel where Jimbo is coming from if you outright say I feel I can beat a particular Coach then you should be Man enough to play that Coach. FREEZE
Now is that Ego or Substance. Ego-Being boastful about your ability, why Boast if you can play that will Be visably seen. Wanting to play a coach for personal reasons, record, trophy or to attempt to embarrass another coach at home or abroad Running up the score to prove you are superior Challenging a coach rudely in a style you have no knowledge of just to play a rival, nine times out of ten your gonna get wiiizzzzaxxxxed! Substance-Wanting to Challenge a coach because you want to test your skill against his in a fair enjoyable competition filled environment. Playing in a new style home or abroad out of interest of being an ambassador to the hobby and to expose and expand ones knowledge of EF/MF Having respect for a coach when he is beaten out of a game to then be a teacher and help at that moment to make that coach aware of things he could do better next time, helping not gloating To understand new champs are born and Old champs are still here, but on any level big or small A Champ is a Champ. Ego or Substance, ill take the Substance. Stay Blessed |
