Looking for feedback
I purchased and watched the DVD from Anthony Burgess on his MPFL electric football system. It was very interesting, a little complicated, but i feel it takes electric football to a new level. Im just curious if anyone else knows, or played the system, and what they think. All feedback is appreciated. Any suggestions for modifications will also be appreciated.

Frank,
First of all I see you are from Chicago area, I am just north of Chicago in Mundelein. Secondly, yes I watched the video and played around with the rule set. I have to admit to liking several things and not the length of each play and the constant stops. My favorite concept was the "snap" where the board is turned on and players can be adjusted. We've tinkered with this snap and I believe a snap that lasts long enough for players to run ~5-7 yards makes for some fun action since you can run cutbacks, reverses, screens, and really just about anything. The thing that I didn't like was the absolute chess like game style (after the initial stop). That part of it is very realistic and strategic don't get me wrong, but I like to let the board rip after that. Part of the fun of MF for me is the "magic" that occurs where the figures decide much of their fate. I consider myself progressive in the hobby in that I like many styles of play and as far as Burgess' MPFL I'd say that the "snap" is the one thing I've plucked out of that ruleset that I enjoy playing with the most. I wouldn't hesitate to play in a tournament of this style if there was one. Regards, Joe
