Default HB Pass

Pardon if this is an obvious query, but do any of you rock the HB pass trick play, is this allowable?

I see it like this:

Call RUN, HB faces L or R as if to run outside, start board, he runs, slot receiver gets open, complete pass, positive yards.

It's a go-to play on Madden, what are your thoughts?

it could be a cool play, but if you were up against a prolific passer, it would almost be unfair unless the ttqb could not be leaned in order to aim. you would have to lob each hb pass with the base squarely connected with the playing surface. rb's don't throw very well anyways, that's why they're running backs .

Sounds good to me, designate the HB as ball carrier, turn the board on, typical run play unfolds, then stop the board before the HB crosses LOS, look for receivers, pass or keep the ball and turn back on to continue running.

Allow defense to pivot any players not engaged at the time the board is turned off, they are reacting to the HB, as the dead give away will be him running parallel to the LOS, so they can focus and react to this.

Maybe limit the pass to 20 yards or so since the HB is throwing.

It could be done and sounds interesting.

Default "Think it through"

Everytime a back gets into trouble just stop the field then pass. The offence already has an advantage this would widen that gap. Can he latteral?, can he toss back to QB?.Now your at the point where u would have to create more rules to balance that. Be careful think it through peace.MW

Default HB Option-Gadget play

One way to work in the HB option in, would be to allow each coach one gadget play per game. You only see the HB option or lateral back to the QB for a pass play, maybe once per game in the NFL. So you work it out in the league rules or before a game starts and now you've added a little more excitement to the game.

I like it.

I would miss the wise open pass for sure!

Default one way to do it ....

it would have to be limited to one time per half or game.

you would have to call it "HB option" at the start of the play AFTER all pivots were done.

To make it fair for the defense, without making it too hard, the HBcannot pass the ball if he has traveled 5 yds forward from his starting point. Or you can say HB can only pass it if he is still going sideways

Default I Like

The one gadget play per half or per game option. Sounds like a reasonable way to add the realism of unpredictability to EF.

Default I Feel The Same Way

Tom....... We Learned The Hard Way..... This Bails Out The Offense...but I Do Like The Idea That If This Play Is To Happen Then The Back Should Run Sideways Or Be Paralllel To The Line Of Scrimmage When The Board Is Stopped And The Pass Attempted
