Story on the NEFL 2010 season.
Here are the coaches, and the teams they will take into battle for the upcoming NEFL 2010 season. This is the 12th year of this league, and its 3rd straight having all 32 NFL teams. Again we will play a full 16 game schedule (NFL 07)
In predicted order of finish! These reviews were made by MF Scouts Inc. A sub division of the NEFL. AFC East This division gets a face lift. Now it will look to be a force in the league. Dolphins – Adrian Baxter. Will get a couple wins on just the fear factor. He is the pre season favorite to dethrone the Pats as division champs. Patriots – Jerry Fulton. The 3-time division champ will get his stiffest competition to date this season. They struggled at the end of last yr and was 1 & done in the playoffs. Jets – Morgan Scott. Let’s see if the new scenery will mean more wins for this embattled coach. 2 incomplete seasons playing under .500 ball. Bills – Kern Robinson. They will need to find a passing game to help out OJ & the electric Co. Might be a long, cold season in Buffalo. AFC North Consistently has been one of the tougher divisions in the league. A lot of playoff experience between these coaches. Ravens – Glenn Phoenix. Followed a strong season with a stronger playoff showing by taking out the hated Titans in Rd 1. Should have enough to win the North. Bengals – Norris McCraw. Were upset in the playoffs but overall had a successful season by getting back into the playoffs. Will challenge the Ravens right to the end. Steelers – Ernie Grice. Oh how the mighty have fallen. A once proud organization is now fighting for respectability. Good thing they have the Browns as cushion. Browns – Buford Culver. Mental errors continue to sink a very balanced Browns team. With wins hard to find in this division, they will need to win all the other games. AFC South With the additions by subtracting, this will be one of the best divisions in the league. Titans – Lomax. The greatest coach in BEFL history has seen some of that success in the NEFL. Right up to when the playoffs start, and then they go home. Rust and chinks were starting show in the armor last year. They were threatened late by the Jags, but had enough to take the division title by way of tie breaker. Jaguars – William Chalmers. The youngest coach in the league wasn’t intimidated last yr. Was one game from making it to the Super Bowl. Should be back in the playoffs again. Texans – Kenny King. The Texans get a new coach, and what a coach. Coming out of sabbatical he will need to get up to speed in a hurry. The game has changed immensely since his last game. Colts – Floyd Tate. This NEFL newbie will need to rely on his BEFL experience just to stay afloat in this division. The over/under on wins is set at 5. AFC West This division has 2 new coaches, but the war is between the other 2 teams. Chargers – Tom Johnson. Simply the best coach in the league. When you can put together 2 seasons like this coach, back to back you have swagger. Ran away with the title last year, and will look to do the same. Chiefs – Harold King. Old man River still running. Nothing jumps out at you but if you slack for a minute they will run right by you. Won’t have enough to challenge the Chargers. Broncos – Jack Thomas. Won’t challenge the big guns in the division. The better battle will be with the Raiders in the cellar dweller bowl. Raiders – William Travers. The resume reads like a been there done that, but this is the first time showing it to the NEFL. NFC East A really good division just got better. May have 3 teams make the playoffs. Giants – Joe Greco. A very tough schedule may do in the steady G-men, but never count this coach. Should wrestle away the crown from Dallas this year. Cowboys – Al Harvey. Coach Harvey prepared for this season by winning for a 3rd time the PEFL title. The games versus the Giants are instant classics. Eagles – Robert Chalmers. This newbie coach will immediately make the Birds of Prey feared around the league. Strength & speed are this coach’s calling card. Redskins - Ty Ware. This may be the last go around for this beleaguered coach. With 6 wins over the past 2 seasons the Nations capitol will looking for a new chief. NFC North This division has the best 1-2 punch in the league. You will have to buckle your chinstrap when playing the top teams in this division. Bears – Keith Chalmers. This HOF coach added another trophy to the mantle last year. The #2 seed in the NFC took care of business in SB XI by dethroning the defending champ with a last second FG. The Bears will have the bullseye on their back all season, but it won’t bother them. Look for them to repeat as division champs. Packers – Andrew Stewart. 14-2 was only good enough for 5 seed in the NFC last year. The league had to go to a 5th tie breaker to determine the winner of this division. The Pack Attack will again be a force with reigning league MVP Brett Favre. Vikings – Ed Scott. A solid veteran coach gets wins outside the division, but not enough to worry the heavy hitters. It’s hard to see the sun thru those 2 big trees. Bucs – Greg King. This team was moved from the South to bring back one of the leagues best rivalries. Bucs vs Vikes have produced some of the utmost moments of All-Time. NFC South An unprecedented maneuver was done to bring some balance to this division. Only time will tell if the operation was a success. Falcons – Brian Healey. Last year was a cake walk for the Dirty Birds as they went 15-1 falling 1 game short of a return trip to the Bowl. New coaches have been imported to challenge Coach Healey. Won’t matter, Falcons win the division going away. Lions – Dearell Brevard. Switched places with the Bucs to bring some order to the South. I shot the sheriff is what the league wants to hear from the Lions, not the Falcons were too good, we can’t beat them. Panthers – James Nicholson. Old coach, with an old, new team. Back in Carolina hoping for a different ending. Can the Panthers scratch their way to a division title and/or playoffs? They have a good shot in this wide open (for 2nd place) division. Saints – Steve Brown. NEFL newbie has a favorable schedule. But will it be enough to stay out of the basement of the South division. NFC West A solid division with 2 really good teams. The other 2 teams will have to gain respect by taking out some big dawgs. 49ers – CorEy Johnson. The Bentley Coupe of the division. A perennial playoff team that looks good, performs well, and plays hard. But something happens in the playoffs, the starter goes, the fuel injection breaks down. Then you are stuck looking like an Neon while all the other playoff teams speed by. Seahawks – Jamie Harris. The best team not in the playoffs last season. They are always a tough team to beat, but just not enough horses to run with the 49ers. Should get back to the playoffs this year. Cardinals – Karim Campbell. After a rough rookie season this coach is coming back for seconds. Cut me Mick, I can’t see those loopers. With enough team strength to push a cell phone off the board, the Cards will need to work on their X’s O’s. Rams – David El. Coach El returns to the NEFL in a new conference. He won’t have much work to improve on a 1-15 team from last season. www.leaguelineup.com/phillynefl
