Big House gets face lift
Our friends in A squared are completing renovations to their stadium. No love for the program here, but you have to appreciate the improvements.

Much louder stadium now too. Before the sound could escape so easily because of the vast bowl design to the stadium, now the larger additions on the sides angle in and over hang the bowl slightly to create somewhat of a wall to trap acoustics slightly and for sound to bounce off of.

Michigan should have changed...
it's seats to blue and gold many years ago and put the "M" logo in there. I love that stadium and will be building it someday!
That is on my buckle list, to see! Reg |

Correct me if I'm wrong (I'm french after all ) but it is a college football stadium, isn't it ?
Incredible, especially for our (european) point of view, since that type of infrastructure does not exist (college/educational sports) here. It's really a typically huge american thing ! it's funny to think that for you (amercan people) it's a totally normal thing to see such big stadiums for student sports Here, even most of the professional stadiums (soccer, rugby) are not as big as that type of building ! |

Yep. And if my information is correct the added seats once again makes Michigan Stadium the the largest capacity college stadium in the country (sorry Reg). Just goes to show you how big college football is in the American culture.

One would think that they would scale down their stadium, due to lack of interest in the bad brand of football that they play up there. Oh, well, leave it to Michigan to do everything backwards, as usual.

The Vols are doing major rennovations
I will put a link to the Vols renovations and it is massive, even compared to the Big House.
Dimitiri may have a greater appreciation for what we take for granted - the college stadium. My blood bleeds Orange and White and I know the religion of the SEC which is college football. I was watching Florida vs. Auburn yesterday (early 90's era) and all I could think was "What I would not give to be sitting in the stands of an SEC football game again". College football, for that matter, is an event unlike the NFL. In the Deep South, those stadiums are built like cathedrals. Whether its Legion Field, Florida Field, or Neyland, games are always played before packed sell-out crowds. Tennessee is in a down year but the Vols will bring in its usuall 107,000 people. I will be traveling to a game this year to take in the atmosphere but I do think we forget just how good we've got it in the States with the magnificent arenas in every state of the union. Reg |
