Everyone who wins in the Shootout System...
is not a great passer!
I will not lie. It is important to be able to hit at a 60-70% clip to win titles in the Shootout system because you are forced into difficult pass situations where if players are engaged, you've got to make that throw. Or if the WR is in double coverage and its a crucial time in the game, you've got to have the ability to make that pass. What you find is many people will not attempt to take that type of risk but rather defer to run the ball. Running the ball is an effective strategy in the Shootout system because it allows you to control the clock, slow the game down, and put pressure on the other team. When you're playing a high scoring team, the strategy would be to not turn things into a track meet but instead, a slugfest. The great coaches like a Jim Davis can run the ball without much problems, and it has show to be true against most opponents in the DFW. While Jim does have at his disposal, "The Andre Rule", JEasymoney uses it sparingly because up to this point, no one has been able to stop. His strategy is sound and he can make passes when need be. So if you ever think this is just a pass-happy system. it is as far from the truth. Reg |

Coach Reg, You Are So On Point........
Doubt the size of a mustard seed is enough to change an entire championship run and game strategy. A balanced attack is key in this system and as I have learned in BAM SB-1, the luxury of doubt can never exist in any game. Retrospect the road to the title was a run/pass attack, just do it and it paid off. During the time between the title game, I missed a few passes while training and let that lack of confidance int my passing skills manifest in the title game.
Conservative in the championship+ against a good coach=victory for your opponent This style of play is defined by a balanced attack and when in the 2 minute drill you must "throw the rock"! What was of most value in the "lesson learned" dept....go all out and dont worry about your opponents strategy, execute your battle plan with "no fear or doubt" Looking forward to learning and growing in this style of play. I recieved a text that I was only able to read after the game..."you have to throw the ball!"= "Priceless" Coach Reg..Big Vince.P has me on a 2 hour a day passing regimen and "No FG's" commitment. |
